I'd say one safety spot is locked down. The FO commited to Godfrey long term.. he can play both safety spots, so not sure which one to peg him at.

TE and MLB are not going to be early picks for sure.. I think OT could be put on the list.. althought I think a lot of people could disagree.. I just don't see us putting OT in the same class of 'need' as most other positions on our team (this year).

In summary:

QB, RB, FB, WR1, TE, OT, C, RDE, CB1, MLB, S, LS

nope..doesn't matter who the DEs are if all the QB has to do is step inside the pocket to avoid them because your DTs are getting man handled.

You are the only person in the realm of football that thinks a position of such importance is "set" with what we have.

there are plenty of positions we are technically fine at. there are also a whole lot of positions that we could stand to upgrade, even if by just a little bit.

that's part of the rebuilding process though.

Are we talking starters or depth or both? This year or long term or both?

Reality is you can justify drafting any position for either depth or long term strategy. And teams are always only an injury away...

With Williams Stewart Tolbert and Goodson, RB is probably the closest to being a non-priority but contracts and fumbles are still concerns for 3 of those players.

Probably....Hardy is weak against the run and average as a pass rusher. That white kid made more noise than hardy.

CJ misses any time....potential worst DL in the league

I take that back. Center is a non-priority with Kalil starting and Hangartner as backup and both under contract.

I think you listed the only three positions that are absolutely set in stone.

I could see the team drafting a DT, DE, WR, TE, CB, LB or G.

The team needs depth and insurance at LB, CB and G
The team needs competition at the #2 WR spot and a backup TE
The team some starting caliber players on the DL (Johnson the only one on the team right now)

I don't think we are "set" at guard. But I do think we are better off plugging in cheap guys under contract rather than pursue someone in draft or free agency.
