I think Claussen was the backup choice. Originally Ryan Leaf was going to throw but he had a few problems getting his prescription filled before he left for South Bend.

I hope other teams take notice of Clausen enough to warrant some calls for a trade. I honestly wouldn't mind Floyd at #9 either.

give him the right offense and he could be okay I think, but he'll never be Cam Newton.

He wasn't even that good at Notre Dame. That's why he fell to the 2nd round and the only reason he was even drafted in the first two rounds is because he was supposedly "pro ready." But guess what? That doesn't matter anymore. That's why guys who supposedly weren't/aren't Pro Ready, Newton and Griffin, went/are going in the top two and while Clausen was drafted in the middle of the 2nd round.

Clausen tanked because he sucked. Even St. Pierre looked better when he played. Clausen's a bum at QB and has always been a bum of a QB. All he did was throw lobs to Michael Floyd.

Yes because he has potential. Why did we draft hime in the first place? How could any of you could truly judge him off of last year? Its pretty ignorant. He sucked but our poo ass team would have made 95% of the QB's in the NFL look much worse then they really are. That coaching staff couldn't care less about developing them. They all knew they were gone before Jimmy even saw the field. Two rookie receivers with no double trouble. Cam is awesome but he had ALOT of help and support from various places. Jimmy had none. He was a ROOKIE

you guys seriously don't think that if he, say, was signed by jacksonville or washington that there would be a qb competition before the season starts?
