I hear guys saying I want you to kill him, blow him up. Does that mean hit him hard or literally kill him and blow him up with a bomb?? When you hit the head it is mentally or physically?? Coaches do talk in metaphors all the time. Again I am not trying to excuse him as the bounty program is evidence there was a plan to hurt players but honestly just to hear what he said in isolation of what else we know, it is not that different from what I know is being said in other lockers rooms as well. Just not to the same extreme perhaps.
I don't see why it's so far fetched for you to believe that he's talking about aiming for the head literally when his speech did nothing but encourage injuring the opposing team. What exactly makes you give him the benefit of the doubt that he was speaking only in metaphor after hearing the entirety of that speech? You don't want to defend him, but I don't want to blindly bash him either. The man even mentions concussions specifically. It's obvious what he's saying.
"Continue, touch and hit the head". C'mon man, what else would he mean by this?
Go find some attention in another topic. You just wanna poo on our parade.

Ps, I can't wait to play the Saints next year. Since Smitty can't celebrate in their coaches' faces, he may have a lovely TD celebration.

Saints fans are hilarious with their attempts at rationalizing the ever-growing pile of poo that is growing around their organization.

when tf is the hammer coming down on vilma and the rest of these turds?
I'd imagine that punishing players would be a more bureaucratic process with the NFLPA and all that nonsense.
The punishments are coming. Hopefully, its during the summer, so we have something to tide us over until preseason.

The speech occurred in a hotel the night before the game in a defense only meeting, so Brees and the offensive guys wouldn't have been privy. That said, they know now, so it'll be interesting to hear reactions - particularly Brees' - to the story if they come out. Wouldn't surprise me if they just tried to pretend the story didn't come out. I'd say at this point they're probably well-practiced at pretending things didn't happen (to their knowledge, of course).
For those who haven't listened to the video or seen the story, here are some of the more pertinent quotes from Williams:
"We hit [expletive] Smith right there’ – then he points under his chin [and continues] – ‘remember me.’ Then he rubs his thumb against his index and middle fingers – the cash sign – and says, ‘I got the first one. I got the first one. Go get it. Go lay that [expletive] out.’
“We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore’s head,” Williams told the players. “We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways... We need to decide on how many times we can meet Frank Gore’s head.”
(that is not a metaphor)
Then, referencing backup halfback Kendall Hunter, Williams continued: “Little 32, we want to knock the [expletive] out of him. He has no idea what he’s in for. When he’s on the sideline, we’ve gotta turn that [expletive] over, turn their coaches over, turn the spectators over. Go and get that [expletive] on the sidelines.”
“We need to find out in the first two series of the game, the little wide receiver, No. 10, about his concussion Williams said to the Saints’ defenders. “We need to [expletive] put a lick on him, move him to decide. He needs to decide.”
“We need to decide whether Crabtree wants to be a fake-ass prima donna or he wants to be a tough guy. We need to find that out, and he becomes human when you [expletive] take out that outside ACL.”
"We need to decide how many times we can bull rush and we can [expletive] clip Vernon Davis’ ankles over the pile … respect comes from them fearing us.”
Wow
Anyone who wants to claim they were just playing "good, clean, hard football" has pretty much nothing to stand on now.

So I finally had the chance to read Michael Silver's writeup and get the details of the story (had a checkup at the doctor's office this morning). Link is here: Source: Gregg Williams instructed Saints during speech to injure Niners offensive players

I could have sworn the quote was "beat Frank Gore's head."
Are you saying it's different, or is that a typo?
