Again trading the for two 1sts good.....swapping a high 2nd for a low 3rd Bad

Right but trading two firsts for the 9th pick wouldn't be fair for the other team. You have to be realistic. I think everyone would do that without have to give up anything else. But that just doesn't seem realistic.

Going by the pick value chart, we wouldn't have to give up the 2nd to get the Patriots two 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick. It would be our 1st and 4th for those picks, we would only come out 5 points ahead so it is about as close as you can get.(this is the idea I ran with on one of my mock drafts).

Now trading #9 and our 2nd, to the bengals for their two 1sts and a 3rd would work out point wise.

I also had the idea in a mock to trade with Detroit, grab their 1st and 2nd this year and their 1st next year, so they could trade up and grab either Martin or Reiff. We would give up our 1st and 4th.

Edit: You might also find teams willing to give up more than in the past for higher draft picks because the financial risk is no where near as high as it used to be. Thus, prompting some teams like the Pats to change their draft strategy if they can get the right deal. The Pats are also running out of time with Tom Brady, they need instant impact guys to make the best out of the 3 years or so that Brady has left, not guys that will be really good starters in a year or two which is likely at that point in the first round.

Then throw in a fourth not the second. Look at the Falcons trade last year

Yeah but the Browns received a first and a second, not two firsts.

That's not the greatest to compare it to because it's not a similar situation as ours and Falcons went all out.

If it's next years 1st a team would be willing I'm sure. If it's the bengals and two current 1sts I doubt they would do that. Pats would I'm sure.

Atlanta did give up 2 1st. Their total was 2 1st and 3rd and 2 4ths

i wouldn't give up our 2nd, but i wouldn't mind trading down to the Pats for their 2 late 1st round picks, the draft value chart has it about even...

I might be willing to go for it, depending on if someone really valuable falls. If Claiborne was there at 9 I would take him instead.

Let me get this straight, we'd lose our first for 2 seconds? If so, hell no.

No, I'm not that stupid.

We'd lose our 1st (9) and our 2nd

and

We'd gain 2 lower firsts (e.g. 17 & 21) and a third.

The reason I pose this question is because I feel like there's a lot more value in 2 mid/lower first rounders vs who is going to be available at 9. But if you feel like losing a 2nd is too much just to pick up two first rounders than I would understand. This poll isn't meant to see if you think it's fair or not, because this is most certainly a realistic trade. It's more to judge the value of the trade and how comfortable you'd be selecting at these spots considering where players should fall.
