Hey I hear that saying that some rich chick who could choose if she wanted to work or raise a bunch of kids instead and afford to have nannies but apparently never actually worked at a job but still has 2 Cadillacs and everything is as bad as your elected governments systematically stripping away the reproductive freedoms fought for by generations of women and calling them sluts for having the gall to question this and making them have ultrasound wands stuck up the cooter by government decree

I can't believe someone had the unmitigated gall to say that about that poor rich woman

It wasn't really what she said about Anne Romney, specifically, it was the implication that any stay-at-home mother "hasn't worked a day in her life" and doesn't know flip about the economy ....

I read her "explanation" later on, in which she was saying she was tired of Mitt bringing up Anne in the conversations about the economy, that maybe he should use other "advisers" for that, etc. ... then THAT's what she should have said, instead of the "hasn't worked a day in her life" crap.

The best part of this thread is all the posters saying "rabble rabble left, rabble rabble right! Both parties are the same. There are only people who try to game the system and people who try to reform it. The two party system is broken. If you honestly believe there is a real difference in them then you are sadly mistaken. There is one party who has been in control for years and they are the Republicrats.

Ron Paul worked a real job. Apparently he's part of the war on women, too... being a gynecologist and all.

Michelle Obama's career - AKA an example of a woman who did work and did raise a family, after growing up in an average/below average financial situation but working really hard and being really smart.

Following law school, she was an associate at the Chicago office of the law firm Sidley Austin, where she first met her future husband. At the firm, she worked on marketing and intellectual property.[4] She continues to hold her law license, but as she no longer needs it for her work, it has been on a voluntary inactive status since 1993.[46]
In 1991, she held public sector positions in the Chicago city government as an Assistant to the Mayor, and as Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development. In 1993, she became Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, a non-profit organization encouraging young people to work on social issues in nonprofit groups and government agencies.[19] She worked there nearly four years and set fundraising records for the organization that still stood 12 years after she left.[17]
In 1996, she served as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago, where she developed the University's Community Service Center.[47] In 2002, she began working for the University of Chicago Hospitals, first as executive director for community affairs and, beginning May 2005, as Vice President for Community and External Affairs.[48] She continued to hold the University of Chicago Hospitals position during the primary campaign, but cut back to part time in order to spend time with her daughters as well as work for her husband's election;[49] she subsequently took a leave of absence from her job.

Ann Romneys career

Born Ann Lois Davies,[2] she was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan,[3] by parents Edward R. Davies and Lois Davies.[4] Her father, originally from Caerau near Bridgend, Wales,[5] was a self-made businessman who became president of Jered Industries, a maker of heavy machinery for marine use;[4][6] he also was mayor of Bloomfield Hills.[3] Raised in the Welsh Congregationalists, he had become strongly opposed to all organized religion,[6] although on her request the family very occasionally attended church, and she nominally identified as an Episcopalian.[7][8]
Ann Davies knew of Mitt Romney since elementary school.[8] She went to the private Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills,[9] which was the sister school to the all-boys Cranbrook School that he attended.[9] The two were re-introduced and began dating in March 1965;[10] they informally agreed to marriage after his senior prom in June 1965.[6][10]
While he was attending Stanford University for a year and then was away starting two-and-a-half years of Mormon missionary duty in France,[10] she decided on her own[3] to convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during 1966.[6][11] In doing so she accepted the guidance of Mitt's father George Romney, the Governor of Michigan.[6] (Within a year her two brothers followed her in converting.[6]) She graduated from high school in 1967 and began attending Brigham Young University (BYU).[3] She also spent a semester at the University of Grenoble in France during her freshman year.[4] The Mormon missionary rules only allowed her two brief visits with Mitt and very rare telephone calls with him.[12] While at BYU she dated future business academic Kim S. Cameron.[12][13] She sent Mitt a "Dear John letter", while Mitt sent letters back imploring her to wait for him.[13]
[edit] Marriage and children

Immediately after Romney's return from France in December 1968, the pair reconnected and agreed to get married as soon as possible.[12] Ann Davies and Mitt Romney were married by a church elder in a civil ceremony on March 21, 1969, at her Bloomfield Hills home, with a reception afterward at a local country club.[4][12] The following day the couple flew to Utah for a wedding ceremony inside the Salt Lake Temple; her family could not attend since they were non-Mormons, but were present at a subsequent wedding breakfast held for them across the street.[4][14]
The couple's first son was born in 1970[12] while both were undergraduates at Brigham Young,[15] living in a $75-a-month basement apartment,[16] which Mitt had transferred to based upon her request.[13] After he graduated, the couple moved to Boston so that he could attend Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. Slowed down by parenthood, she later finished her undergraduate work by gaining a semester and half's worth of credits via taking night courses at Harvard University Extension School,[15] from which she graduated in 1975[1] with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in French language.[17]
A stay-at-home mother,[18] Romney raised the family's five boys (born between 1970 and 1981)[12] and taught early morning scripture classes to them and other children[18] while her husband pursued his career, first in business, then in politics.[19] Her personality as a political wife was viewed as superficial and was a detrimental factor in her husband's eventually losing effort in the 1994 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts.[18] In one instance during the campaign she was ridiculed for saying that she and her husband had never had a serious argument during their married years.[20].

Wait does this mean I'm cool because I have a real job? Sucking a party off sounds like pretty hard work, especially if you are as unattractive as I am.
