Why does Google and Yahoo show up in the list of people that are on here?

Search engine bots crawl the web. They crawl the links on a website to discover new pages that they can add to their search results.
On popular sites like this, they are active nearly all the time. On less popular sites, they may only crawl once every few months.
They are essentially explorers for search engines.
