from the Panthers' schedule:

Sun. Nov. 4 at Washington Redskins FedEx Field 1:00 p.m. FOX

The eyes of the nation will be on Panthers vs. Redskins this season, as the winner of the Redskins' last home game before the presidential election historically correlates very strongly with the outcome of the presidential race. Troubling if you're a Panthers/Obama supporter. Panthers/Romney supporters shouldn't have any mixed feelings, though. Hey, if we're gonna have a hundred different threads about the Madden Curse, this at least deserves a mention.

For the uninitiated (from about.com): "In 18 out of the last 19 elections, when the Redskins have won their final home game prior to the election, the incumbent has held the White House. The one exception to the Redskins Rule was 2004, when the Green Bay Packers beat the Redskins, but John Kerry still went on to lose President Bush. This year the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Washington Redskins in a blowout, portending a possible Obama landslide."

If the combined score is 42 to 56, does that mean more people will vote? Go America!

Not too concerned. Ron Paul will have already won the delegate race down in Tampa by then. Obama stands no chance against Ron paul

this means the skins could be patriots. do the right thing, and start your third string that night. Wouldn't it be awesome if Obamey's presidency rested on the shoulders of rex grossman.

I wanted to read this thread, but if there is one thing I can't stand is political talk. Makes me want to break things. Can we put this thread somewhere else so I don't have to see it. Thanks
