And Beason had only 8 his final season in college football...thanks for playing.

The point wasn't to compare him to Beason, it was to compare him to where our needs were. We need backfield penetration, and people tried to argue Kuechly was awesome at that with no supporting evidence.

We need QB pressure. Not another Beason. We already have one.

Kuechly doesn't fit our defensive scheme, so we're not drafting him. Pretty simple.

Many times it is our OLB's that cover the tight ends while the MLB covers the middle of the field. Not sure there is less running on the outside.

It is a matter of how much of the field he has to cover on every play. If he plays middle he has to run both directions. If he plays outside he has to play just one. As for him playing tight ends, that is true he has to keep up with them. If he can't he becomes a 2 down linebacker much like Ryans was last year and the reason Houston traded him to Philly.

If that is the criteria we need to replace all the linebackers. None are great at blitzing or tackles for losses and everyone knows it can't be coached. We can get a D linemen later in the draft who can rush the passer since Cox will be gone at 9.

Well, Beason doesn't fit our scheme....neither does Anderson if going off of what they have been asked to do

Or we could just stop talking about linebackers. We don't need to look for a CB who can rush the passer either.

d-line is our need.

I want the bpa that feels a need. So it's narrowed down to cox Kuechly coples ad Floyd to me. Cb is a need to but they aren't any cbs that would fit as the bpa at 9. I want cox. But I would be fine with any of the guys I mentioned. U need good or even great football players. If u feel Kuechly is a better football player for this team and u think he the best talent available, then u take him. The same for cox or Floyd and even coples.

I just want a good football player.

The Kuechly people seriously have the most illogical arguments ever. It feels like g5 tinderbox thread.

ah yes bench press, 40 yard dash (a healthy Kuechly vs Beason on a bad knee) and broad jump

is that what you wanted to discuss?

SO he didn't do the agility drills. Do you really think he is faster than a 4.7??? And do you think he is now???? Bottom line is that he was never fast as Kuechly and isn't getting faster after Achilles surgery.

And the kuechly detractors are emo posters who have taken a dislike to the best defensive pick in the draft for little sound reason.

DE maybe, DT not when we drafted 2 guys last year in the third round. If Cox isn't there few others are upgrades to what we have or are instant starters.

JJ 43 is about having a strong front 7. Good football players. It aint a Tampa 2 dependent on 4 man rush.

We need to get better NOW. DT likely just falls into the mix and sees little time/impact

We did that already and he admitted not likeing the move. said he felt at home in the middle.

Plus you don't move a ALL pro MLB for a rookie.

Tell that to Demeco Ryans
