As long as it wasnt Coples im fine with it.

Beason is coming off Achillies surgery...its a pretty devastating injury. Most athletes are within a few years left till the end of their careers after an injury like that. Beason says he is around 80% and it is usually a two year recovery. Beast is my favorite player but if he may reinjure himself or just not be as effective.

Thomas Davis, no more to be said. Best case is TD last the season and plays up to 10-12 games.

If both those guy went down we are seeing 2010 all over again. Luke is being brought in to contribute as a MLB-WLB, and possible captian of the defense. Free Agents lbers are not going to do it.

Get a star and he would not be number 9 if the Panther's think he is a faster Dan Conner.

Im seeing a lot of reasons why people dont like this pick. Answer me this: If our need wasnt at DL and CB, would you have liked this pick?

He was the BPA at a position of need(it will be a need until Beason and Davis prove otherwise) and gives us a lot of versatility at the LB spot. Also with the TEs in our league, Kuechly was a perfect fit.

Just sit back and enjoy it. Im sure Hurney and Rivera know what they are doing.

He's not gonna make many highlight shows, but the guy is a tackling machine. 516 put downs in 3 years and the all time record (4 seasons) is only 29 more. Add in pass D and versatility and I can see why they couldn't pass on him.

Im sure Hurney and Rivera know what they are doing.

Hurney is an idiot and I have no doubt he has no clue what he's doing. But Rivera knows LBs and he will make this work.

But I'm amazed at how upset some are with this pick, with all the problems we've had at LB. It was a major position of need and he was one of the best players available. Usually when players combine elite college production with elite athletic attributes, they pan out pretty well. Win/win situation for us.

Wasn't crazy about the pick at first, bit this almost ensures that there is no pressure to rush Beason or TD back, while adding an unbelievablely important piece to the future of our d. LK is a tackling beast and is light years better than Conner. He will play all 3 LB positions and he is heady enough and has the instincts to be a real leader on this d. Again, I wasn't crazy about the pick, but after I've had time to process I realize we just locked up probably the most important positions in this scheme for a long time. God willing, the kid should have a great career and will most def play on CAMs level!

I think that is about where I am on LK. Skeptic at first, but am warming to the idea.

Most rational post I have seen all morning. You would think the sky was falling around here with all the negativity. Good choice in BPA approach on a kid that has a lot of potential. I like the pick.
