Beason was asked about the prospect of adding Kuechly on WFNZ. Marc James set him up to totally trash the idea and Beason gave a very level headed favorable answer. No one wants to lose their job but Beason knows what's up.

I don't see why Beason would worry about his job security though. That would be straight silly.

Well I mean his MLB spot. He could be moved to will to make room for Kuechly.

Nope, Kuechly will play the outside. You don't move your 5-year defensive captain out of position for a rookie. It's not like Kuechly would be "out of position" away from the middle. He can easily slide over to the outside.

I would be mad too if someone was drafted to take my spot. He had a rotten season but that was due to injury not poor play. But it is the NFL, Not For Long.

I doubt that Beason moves this year, but Keuchly will be the long term solution in the middle. Don't be shocked if Beason is moved outside next year.

Kuechly's coverage skills will be much better for covering tight ends on the outside. Why is it easier for Beason to slide to the outside (where he hasn't played in 6 years) than for Kuechly to play on the outside?

We would not have drafted this kid so high if he could only play in the middle. We're not looking to replace Beason, we're looking to replace Davis, remember? Davis is the one that can't stay on the field.

Beason played outside in 2010, is your memory that bad? Secondly, we are replacing TD but that doesn't mean that Keuchly has to play his spot. We will be, long term, replacing him by sliding Beason over and letting Keuchly play the middle.

My main problem with Kiper is that everytime I see him, his hair cut makes me think I've time warped back into 1978 and my parents are watching Lawrence Welk on the only TV.

why?

Are you implying Kuechly can't play the outside? Are you implying that Beason would be better on the outside? Are you saying that Beason's production in the middle is negligible? Are you saying Beason can suddenly move to the outside after an achilles injury? Are you saying that because Kuechly is white, he has to play in the middle?

What are you saying, bro?

Point is Mel Kiper is never right and I think ESPN keeps him on for the same reason that they keep on your boy from First Take, although that guy stirs controversy on purpose. Kiper is just always wrong.

If we're stupid enough to slide a pro-bowl MLB out of position to accomodate another player, we deserve what we get.

Lets be honest Beason wasnt the same player on the outside in 2010....he's better suited to be in the middle.

I think you've got to move Kuechly to the outside. He's going to be able to cover the TE better than Beason will.

Kuechly - Beason - Anderson > Beason - Kuechly - Anderson

Doesn't matter where Beason and Luke play.....what matters is having both on the field. Waste of time being worried about where Beason lines up.

Wasn't a talent issue....was a I have been playing MLB for years and randomly moved for a few games issue.

Beason and Luke can play all 3 positions. All a
Matter of getting them reps in a scheme.
