The Panthers Aren't Built In A Day

One major kink in the equation of football teams are injuries. They can't be predicted (unless you have someone with an injury history like Thomas Davis, or Dan Morgan). That is why depth is so important, but, apparently, also underrated in the minds of many of you that want immediate success. Speaking of injury, Ron Edwards---a part of the building plan--was unfortunately its victim, but will be coming back as another quality piece to our injured defense. Moreover, Rivera and the FO's patience and belief in development of quality had them draft a potentially solid piece of our defensive backfield who was injured at the time, Brandon Hogan.
Rivera, Derm and Chud add great perspective to a decent Marty Hurney. In my eyes they have helped Hurney to focus and keep on the straight and narrow without mortgaging potential depth for the future by dealing away picks in order to get that which the Panthers may already have (if only patience and belief in development are allowed to play out).
Our FO doesn't strike me as stupid. There are still moves to be made and needs to be addressed. Deals can still be made, and the draft is not yet done. Before this team gets to where it needs to be, there will be more moves and more years in all probability, but I like the direction we are going. True, long lasting success can't be rushed. In reference to a championship caliber football team, patience really is a virtue.

It appears that the front office believes our Sophomore DTs can be as good as what was coming out in the draft. Brandon Hogan will compete at CB.
Fill the depth in and this will be an awesome young deep team.

this team has been rebuilding since 2008,its time to put up or shut up.
Ignorant statement. We have been rebuilding since we drafted Cam. Anytime you get a new coaching staff they have to rebuild the team to their style and system. This is year 2 of that rebuild.

Oh god, not this poo again. Bengals re-built in a shortened offseason. And had a wonderful draft this year.
Different situation entirely.

the lions damn near had ZERO talent after suffering through matt millen for years. they get a new GM and their turnaround takes how long? let's see...

Well by that time frame, we are a year ahead of schedule.

glad i'm not alone in not really seeing what he was getting at.
we had basically two shitty drafts in a row in 09 and 10 and then went 6-10 after bottoming out the prior year under a lame duck regime. playoff time!

The Lions still have some holes and imploded under the weight of their own immaturity. Who really thought they were going to host the Lombardi trophy this year? They still aren't championship caliber, but they appear to be on their way. Not sure where you're going with this.
