Good Job Republicans

A source involved in the talks confirms that Senator Arlen Specter will switch to the Democratic Party, a dramatic move putting the Democrats within reach of two votes in the Seante.

The move stands to put the White House's agenda on a fast-track, and to renew hopes among organized labor for the Employee Free Choice Act.

Vice President Joe Biden was, I'm told, deeply involved in the talks with Specter.

The move also raises the stakes for the resolution of the Minnesota Senate race, and may tempt Republicans to drag that fight on further.

Too much power for one party.

You mean the guy who's a poster child of congressional waste and incompetence wants to become a democrat? Stop the presses.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's still trying to investigate spygate.

just a reminder though that a moderate republican is the exact same thing as a blue dog democrat and instead of watering down legislation to appease the other party, obama will have to do it within his own.

keep in mind that democratic senators are all basically corporate shills

keep in mind that the american senate is an archaic vestigial limb of an american government long gone and doesn't serve a purpose anymore the House couldn't do on its own.

I wonder how all those people who voted for him feel?

I wonder how all those people who voted for him feel?

What does he care... or for that matter any of them...

Yeah I know, but I would be pissed off. I guess it's one thing to become an independent, but this would feel like a betrayal to me. Not that I would have ever voted for him in the first place.

    • And if I'm Chicago, I gladly let it happen, and if I'm absolutely sold on going QB that early, I go Watson at 3, and keep those picks to help get more around that young player coming in.

Chicago has nothing at Safety, zero pass rush, and 2 of their receivers have battled injury for their entire careers. Obviously, they went where they felt they needed to go, but with Adams on the board, or any one of those DL, to trade up picks that could be used for some picks to really support them and get them in better shape to perform this season instead of in the future, I just can't imagine going any other way.
