He also played linebacker and tight end lol

if this is the case, then I can see some trick play packages where we are not so concerned our punter would get hurt running for the first down

This board is amazing. People now bitching about a punter.

Not sure why we passed on Butler, but there must be something they liked about this guy.

a slight use of common sense has me thinking the same thing...

At first I thought it was annoying but your passive agressive sarcasm because the draft didn't go the way it wanted is hilarious RnR

lol

He's not wrong though. The "trust Hurney he is smarter than us" blind faith argument is really weak.

What the hell guys?! Our FO knows that they're doing, c'mon now. Other teams should just line up and take notes of our awesome drafting prowess. BradNortman4Lyfe!

Man, you need a hug. <_<

I love how people use the rankings of Mel Kiper, etc. as the gospel for our picks, but also bash these same analysts.

We liked this guy more, simple as that and nothing wrong with it.

vs. "we know how to do Hurney's job better than him even though we're babbling idiots compared to even the worst of NFL talent evaluators"?

No. but no one's acting like each pick is going to change the Franchise.

They have scouts, we have youtube. They choose the guys they like and can better the team. Is it the guy we want? Probably not, in most cases. Is the pick they pick going to hit?? Maybe not. And maybe the one you wanted becomes an all pro or something. And we can question it, say I told you so. But in the end they're doing what they think is best for us to win.

We'll just see how it all works out.

But really acting this way over a punter is asinine.

I look at it this way... if Butler doesn't get drafted, we can bring him in as an UDFA to compete with this guy. :P

(Edit: Damn you Sapper! )

Rivera said Nortman was the most consistent of all the punters with his hang time. They charted all the specialists.
