The Americans blow out Nigeria 156-73. Yup you read that right, 156-73. An 83 point blowout. Team USA connected on 29 of 45 3 pointers, an Olympic record. Their 156 points is the highest point total in Olympic history. Dream Team 1 never put up that many points in any contest. The team dished 40 assists, another Olympic record. The leading scorer was Carmelo Anthony who had 37 points mostly from 10 3 pointers. Both are Olympic records, the highest scoring total and most 3's made in a contest. This 2012 Team deserves respect for their efforts. What a legendary blowout.

I just peeped the score...got damn, 83 pts?! I expected us to handle them easily, but I didn't expect a beat down like that. I guess that's to be expected when you have Ike Diogu and Al Farouq Aminu as your best players (2 NBA scrubs). Great win!

Is this the first time we are losing in the 2nd half? I think so.

Well that was short lived by Lithuania.

When America gets in a jam late in they call on LeBron James to save the day. King is an American hero.

With less than six minutes remaining, Team USA was in jeopardy of a shocking loss to Lithuania in the fourth game of the preliminary round of the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament. Then, LeBron James took over. The Miami Heat star scored nine points down the stretch, and the Americans held on for a 99-94 win that was competitive throughout.
