IMO, there should have been a Hornets subform created and left the Bobcats/NBA forum as is....kind of like how there was separate subforum for all the Vick threads during the dogfighting days, and for the Dalton/The Golden Calf of Bristol/Luck forum this past season.

Or, being that any possible rebrand from the Bobcats to the Hornets is relevant to the Bobcats, we should have been allowed to discuss it in the Bobcats forum...

Too bad there were 2 people who weren't adult enough to discuss it as such and one of them happened to be a "mod."

As I stated in there before, I was here before rebrand discussions and I'll be here after, regardless of the result because I'm a fan of the CHARLOTTE franchise. I wish other people were mature enough to approach it in the same manner.

This forum is a microcosm of what we'd be if we were the Hornets...irrelevant to the rest of the NBA.

Coming from someone who's largely indifferent about the name Hornets or Bobcats, the Bobcats are quite irrelevant to the rest of the NBA. In fact, the biggest pro basketball-related news from us nationally is about rebranding. Maybe next year not sucking total ass will fix that.

I'll preface this by saying, that I don't include you in this faction Proudiddy, but...

If you were here before, this was a pretty decent NBA forum until all the rebrand poo started for Bobcats and other NBA fans. Then the rebranding topic started to draw out mouthbreathers like Mr Touchdown who know ZERO about the NBA other than purple and teal starter gear they wore in the 90s, yet feel the need to poo on the Bobcats as much as possible, and feel like they are entitled enough that the name should be changed to appease non-fans like them. And whether you want to admit it or not, there have ALWAYS been racial undertones with how the city responded to Bob Johnson as the Bobcats owner. So yeah, I get why KT and PSC who have been Bobcats supporters all along turned up the sarcasm meter in that thread. A more civil discussion could be had (by both sides), but I don't think anyone's mind is going to be changed on either side at this point.

I don't post in many of the threads anymore because it's YOUR forum, not the Bobcats forum. That's been made clear. And after the personal insults and jabs you've thrown at me since the rebranding issue started, I'm not inclined to discuss matters of interest in YOUR forum. I talk basketball with other basketball fans who don't get their panties in a bind when they don't agree with something I say or vouche for.

I get what you're saying, but when someone that knows nothing about me, where I've come from, or how I view things starts laying out my life story for me and insulting me simply because I prefer one nickname over another for our team, you can believe I take offense and it pisses me off.

I can't speak for anyone else... I speak for myself. I've been a fan and will remain a fan regardless of what happens with the brand.

And no, I can't speak to whether their were racial undertones regarding Bob Johnson. There could have been, but Charlotte is about as progressive as a city you can find in NC outside of the college towns, so I highly doubt people in one of the most diverse cities in NC turned their nose up at BJ simply because he was black. Racism is still alive and well, but I doubt that had an effect in his business endeavors here - but no doubt, it has played a part in some of the lack of interest from fans.

Regardless, you want to talk about racists? How about KT and PSC claiming MJ was a sell-out and Uncle Tom when people trashed Bob Johnson? So, it's okay to question one's authenticity as a person of color but it's not okay to suggest a name change for our team because it would be erasing our history of black ownership? LOL, that is the idiocy I'm talking about.

Our team has sucked for almost all of its existence, so if I didn't sincerely care about this team I would be bandwagoning elsewhere instead of suffering and dealing with an infighting crowd of idiots over something like a rebrand.

I appreciate the fairness of your post and agree with it for the most part, but like I said, I can't speak for anyone else... Because the whole point of their movement is to DESTROY THE BOBCATS. The Hornets are simply the new vessel they are using to accomplish that goal. They don't give a poo about the NBA. They want to use our resources to tear us down, hence Morgan, Diddy, and MrTD spamming Bobcat boards rather than take their cause to the Hornets boards. Do they go to Hornets games in NO screaming "Go Charlotte!" and "Hornets come back home!"? No they go to Bobcat games and hollar "Go Hornets!", "Give us our name back we demand it!" It's all about making the Bobcats pay for what they did to us. If they cant do that, then they dont post. If they cant go in the Bobcats forum and tell us how much we need to be whitewashed so bigots will like us, they get mad. They are anarchists here to derail us. Nothing more.
