I believe this whole admendment was pushed up to dominate headlines in what should be a very important day for n.c. as well as america. If it fails and they know it will no one on media outlets in nc are going to talk about candidates or their records. The main stream is using the gay community to deter voters from the booth, by downplaying the importance of all the other races. Dems use their constituates for their gain and not that of the people actually involved. This was nothing but dirty politics. And at the end of the day the media will demonize conservs and not focus on Obamas failed policies or romneys chances to win. Sorry homos and lezes but you got used!

There are reports that people voting for the libertarian primary today are receiving ballots that don't even have Amendment One on the ballot.

It was on mine when I voted against it this morning.

The disappointing part is that I actually think the majority of folks out there are against the amendment but frankly, they aren't motivated or organized like the people for it. Fear is an amazing motivational tool and combine that with voting/political awareness apathy, it's fertile ground for lots of different types of discrimination.

The Dems completely sold this down the river - the Republicans are coming out in force because it's a Presidental nomination effort, the Dems knew it, but bargained it away for something else,

I believe this amendment is one where you have a bunch of people that say they're against it, but when they get to the ballot IN the box in private...they'll vote for it. As far as the turnout, I would think the democrats should outpoll the republicans because of two factors 1) there are more democrats than republicans registered in nc and 2) the republican presidential nominee has been determined for the most part and it's actually the democrats with the largest decision to make (gubernatorial election).

I do think the amendment one election will be a lot closer that the recent polling.

You may be right. I wondered why Amendment One wasn't held during November elections when there would be a larger and more representative turnout of voters. Having it now definately favors those that are for the amendment.

I think it's one of the many reasons Perdue decided to call it quits. There would be near zero incentive for democrats to get out the vote, and also the fact she wasn't raising any money.

No matter how it turns out today, I think we are in for an election year more hotly contested than any other in our lifetimes.

If you like this sort of thing it should be fun.

I believe there are a lot less undecided votes this year than in 2008. I don't care if you're an Obama fan or hater, the country is strongly divided and people either love the guy or loathe him. I loathe him.

Dems don't care if it passes. All they care about is that you get flooded with useless information. After today they can now prove that republicans are homophobe racist. And thats all your gonna hear about. They don't even care who wins the races. Cause its primaries. this is and has always been about bashing repubs. While demonstrating the compassion of obamey. When it should've been about control of the house and Senate. They use voters feelings to divide us. watching the news is like asking your mugger for a loan. Gay marriage isn't half as important as our budget or unemployment, or taxes. Wheres the media when you need them?

Obama can't run on budget, unemployment, and taxes...unless it's taxes on the rich.
