This pretty much happened in my back yard. My Uncle and I have actually considered visiting the church before just to see how weird it really is.

After a bit of further reading, his church is like 3 miles from my house. I've drove by it at least 1,000 times and never knew that it was a snake handling church. I automatically assumed they were talking about that famous bunch of snake handlers in Jolo. It's amazing just how many of these nuthouses are in my immediate area.

I've always thought that snake lovers were setting theirselves up for failure.

It's amazing how much power these words have over some people.

Mark 16: 17-18 reads, "And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Apparently the guys dad died the same way yet he still believed those words. It's mindboggling to me.
