it's not necessarily that which is to me off-putting about the south but the simple fact that many of the people there still can't get over the fact that they lost a war that happened 150 years ago and that's where their underlying seething hatred of the north stems from.

My hate is sports related hate. Plus the aforementioned sweet tea and boiled peanut rub.

i don't understand how anyone can prefer the south to california.

spent 21 years between georgia and florida and all i really miss is waffle house, cracker barrel, and chik-fil-a.

weather is better, people are nicer, more poo to do, etc. only downside is cost of living is ridiculous.

...and the epic beaches full of epic women.

I've lived both north and south and traveled in nearly every state, so I don't have a dog in this fight. The one thing I could never get past in California is how damn cold the Pacific is. It is hard to enjoy going to the beach if you need a wetsuit to go in the water.

As a Southerner I must admit that the whole Southern Hospitality thing is a crock of shiit. We love to hide in our homes and yell at people who walk in our yard and make judgments of anyone who isn't from the same place as us,

Charlotte isn't really the South.

The rest certainly is.

Nah, the whole state. You're yankees compared to the real south.

I understand Jenkins is moving back to Charlotte to be close to his kids.

Yep. Tons of guys play ball in the big northern cities and have the family down here

Texas is South of the Mason/Dixon

When I had Texas BBQ in San Antonio, there was no red sauce on it, just a rub. They did have some kind of sauce on the table, but not many were using it.

I wouldn't want to live in California, at least not in or near any of the large cities. Overcrowded, to much noise, and horrible traffic. I did live in Hawaii for three years, and it wasn't bad, especially the weather. But the traffic in Honolulu was still worse than I like.

As far as the people, there are good people and bad wherever you go.

I think it was Mr. TD that broke this story and actually gave this reason as to why Tolbert wanted to come to Carolina. All over a couple of texts..hah.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere other than NC. It's not the North or the Left Coast...and it's really not even the South IMO. It's more in the middle with Southern tendencies.

Oh sorry bro I was at the beach.

I don't like delivery, too damn expensive and they take forever. I'd rather just drive down the street.

Cool! Me too. Rode my bike there... So easy to register it.

& I could go down the street but meh.
