I live in SC and I don't give a sh*t what they are called, but North Carolina Panthers just sounds stupid. Charlotte Panthers is slightly less stupid sounding. As long as they are never the LA Panthers.

By the way, I was born and raised in Wilmington, NC but now reside in SC. SC kicks ass. Keep paying higher taxes up there if you choose, though.

People in the Carolinas are proud to be from the Carolinas.

People in Charlotte are proud to be from Buffalo, NY.

i live in sc and travel between the 2 states on a regular basis. to be quite honest, there's not much of a difference between either state...except most south carolinians don't bother to go to myrtle beach, but apparently north carolinians do.

I'd be fine with calling it the Charlotte Panthers.

They are not the Georgia Falcons, Wisconsin Packers, Michigan Lions, Washington Seahawks etc etc

Both of the names suggested sound ridiculous. Charlotte alone isn't anywhere near significant enough to make people care about supporting the Panthers.

I'm down for Charlotte Panthers since so much of this board thinks Charlotte (and even North Carolina) isn't part of the South.

This made me laugh - mostly because I know more transplants than I do people who were born here :(
