Ron Jaworski: Tape says Cam can be a special passer

I thought that all of last year Cam had much, much more talent than he was given credit for in the passing game. He stands very tall, has quiet feet and has a really high release. Jaws is right about the experience thing too... once Cam has 2 or 3 years in the league... holy shitballs it gives me a woody (no homo).

Better QB play and who you would take are 2 different things.
So are you not factoring in his running abilities? He was 10th in passing yds and if you add his running yds he moves into the top 8 with total yds. Combine his td's and hes top 6. 15th in passing + 1st in rushing = 16/2= 8. Hes top 8 for sure.
Name a better QB not on my list and tell me why.

I could go into turnovers and 4th quarter efficiency if you like. Or could just dig into some obscure stat that takes out his running statistics to prove a point. However as we have seen on this board that turns you into a hater. My point was that based on pure QB play it could be stated that the other guys that were mentioned such as Cutler, Ryan, etc could be considered better at playing QB (ie, better mechanics, better reads, better checkdowns etc.) I wouldn't take Cam over anyone, that includes Aaron Rogers but if someone who watches QB game play pretty much exclusively and has played QB in the NFL ranks some more QB's higher than Cam based off of his rookie season and game play, I wouldn't say they were stupid.

I have no problem with his ranking. I am upset that there's not a video of Ron's remarks up here yet. The Huddle has failed me (and i can't do it because I'm texting on my break from jury duty

Also think bout this. How many game winning drives did Cam have last year? I can only think of the one vs. Jacksonville. He had several nice drives fizzle out at the end of games. If he can be that guy that closes a game it would really elevate him.
Yea that looks cool and everything but most of the huddlers know it was our defense that cost us. Cam had several drives in the 4th qt of games to take the lead or give us a chance to (Mare) only to be let down by our defense or special teams.
All most all of them to name a few

I can only imagine how much this powderkeg is going to explode when Carolina develops into a perennial playoff team.

Cam has to take a little heat for the losses. You can't pile it all on one phase of the game.

Also think about the system he came from, and how many 'experts' predicted he'd be a huge flop as a QB. Not to mention the lack of preparation before the season started. Consider all that and IMO his performance was like Magic Johnson playing all five positions in game 6 of the '80 NBA finals- 42 pts/15 rbs. Also think bout this. How many game winning drives did Cam have last year? I can only think of the one vs. Jacksonville. He had several nice drives fizzle out at the end of games. Despite the ranking of #15, Jaws is very, very complimentary of Cam. Showed a couple plays where Cam broke down the defense and made some great throws... good little spot.
