What creatine do you take and how do you take it?

I bought ISS research and the poo doesn't mix well at all. Takes too long to get it to actually dissolve into water. Makes it difficult to mix into my pre, or even a protein shake.

Cheap, expensive, none of it mixes well. I have an immersion blender and drink it quickly.

Yea. I used to have one of those Cuisnart SmartSticks. I don't know where it went. Guess I'll just keep using warm water.

I'm going to be getting some Vibram 5-finger shoes for christmas.  Can't wait to squat in them, I hear they're great for stability.

Check with your gym, I've heard stories of gyms kicking people out because they do not offer enough protection from falling free weights.

Ok, will do, but that sounds bizarre. It's not like regular shoes provide much more protection. (my current athletic shoes have a mostly fabric upper)

That was exactly what I said when I pointed to a pair of regular shoes. It had to do with their insurance policy because they treat them as being barefoot.

I've moved to india to run a crossfit gym. the offer was made and i jumped on it because it sounded like an adventure. on top of getting to go with my girlfriend, I'm getting to experience a different part of the world, save up a ton of money, travel all over southeast asia, and i'll definitely make regionals.

the gym doesn't have the best equipment. notice how bad the 5k plates are on the end of this bar.

Two questions:

1. I cant tell because of the angle, but where are you hitting on your hips when youre hip driving into the second part of the ******? My mid thigh is where I tend to bump, but you seem to be hitting on your pelvis/ pubic bone area.

2. What kind of Olympic lifting shoes are those?

the general rule is the higher into your hip crease the better, but don't think about it as thrusting your hips into the bar. imagine how you would jump straight in the air. you wouldn't jump high by humping forward. that would happen as a result of you opening upwards.

making early contact is a sign that you're either pulling early with your arms or you need to widen your grip. Good ways to work on this are to do hang and low hang squat ******. really try to get the bar into your hips. this is difficult to pick up without some good coaching. if you upload videos i'll take a look.

those are nike romaleos. god tier to squat in, great for ******, kinda iffy for split jerking. 200 bucks.

I've found that working out barefoot is awesome. Most of my foot pains went away.

Ah hadn't seen this thread or forgot it was here, normally just stay in the main forum.

Nice to see some of you hit the gym. I'm in the gym 5-6 times a week for the better part of the morning. A few years ago I was all about getting as big as possible (naturally) and was benching 315lbs 6 times in a set. I was 6 foot and roughly 225llbs. Some of that 225 was fat due to being done high school and not playing sports anymore.

So 2 years ago I cut out almost all sodium and carbs for a whole year. Got down to 175lbs, and was running every day. I wanted a fresh start and wanted to re shape my body so I figured just completely starting over was the best way.

I'm back up to 200lbs, I eat clean as hell and do everything naturally. I work out because I enjoy it and need to release stress and helps tire me out. Those days of going to the gym and lifting with spots and that crap are over for me. Don't get me wrong I still work out hard as hell but it's a different kind of work out now with more reps and cardio and super setting.

I quote Cat on this b/c her Tinderbox post about lusting made me think about it...

So... last Friday, I'm in the gym working out with a friend.  We're doing some cable flies over in the corner and it's near the squat rack.  There's a girl on the squat rack I see in the gym like everyday....  young, maybe 25ish... she usually works out with her bf who seems to be an amateur bodybuilder.  I've never really talked to either of them other than like "hi" as we walk by or whatever just because I see them all the time...

about this girl... she's probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in person.  Joscott knows...  I mean drop dead gorgeous, and seems really sweet to boot.

So it's Friday, there's like 5 people in the whole gym, it's quiet...  I finish my set and I had obviously noticed her squatting, but as per usual tried not to stare (it's hard not to)... and she walks over to me... and says...

"Hi, I see you in here all the time, and I don't know anyone else today, can you spot me on this last set and just help me get the bar back on the rack?"

Obviously I agree (duh) and go to spot her...  so OF COURSE as she's about halfway thru her set... lo and behold, who walks in???  My wife...

She comes over and taps me on the shoulder to say hello...  as I'm spotting literally the hottest woman in Wilmington...  lol

So she finishes up... I help her put the bar up and she thanks me...  my buddy gives me this look and says "wow, that must've been tough... "   I just laugh...

So a few minutes later, I see the girl over talking to my wife... alarm bells start going off... uh oh, I'm in trouble now...

After she leaves I go ask my wife what she said and she had told her that she was sorry, she knew I was married, but she didn't know anybody else in the gym that day...  that she wasn't "that kind of girl"...   my wife said she was really sweet about it...  phew...    which is actually probably a good thing because I'm sure I would have heard about it later...  lol

tl;dr

Biscuit helped a really hot chick in the gym and his wife walked in right then...  totally worth it.

Also to Joscott... I talked to her and you didn't... Ha Ha.  :P

Women at my gym just watch tv from the treadmills and bikes. I only see them lifting when they're doing some sort of fusion yoga.

There's probably about 15 or so women in our gym that are really serious into fitness... and probably another half dozen or so that compete in fitness/bodybuilding.
