ty for saving me the time of a response

there plenty of places in the world where he can go galt but, he wants it his way here and he wants it now *crosses arms and pouts*

anyway someone should just make a thread about libertarianism, objectivism, and other forms of "fug you, got mine" so that this thread can get back on topic

I'm having a hard time understanding your point. You're criticizing me for wanting positive changes made to my country's political system? Is this not what every political advocate in the history of the world has wanted? Including you and everyone on this forum?

Please do make a thread lambasting libertarians and Objectivists.

I'd also like to point out that one of you used the "if you don't like it, move somewhere else" argument on me.

I thought that was the kind of thing only dumb conservatives with no real substance say?

I wondered how long it would take for that particular hypocrisy to be pointed out, but of course the apologists will explain why its not the same thing at all.

You're repeating things that I've already told and shown you aren't true.

That mixture of capitalism and socialism is what has you sitting 5-years deep in a 15-year recession.

Nothing I said supports anarchy.

No, a mixture of capitalism and socialism is what made this country the greatest superpower in the world, the recession was primarily caused by a lack of regulation in the banking industry. The USA has never had a purely capitalist or a purely socialist system, and no other first world country in the world has a purely capitalist or socialist system right now

You're completely correct about pure capitalism/socialism.

But the recession is hardly a result of America being too capitalist. Austrian economists predicted the recession years before it happened. But foresight is somehow less compelling than the hindsight of the mainstream and Keynesian economists.

I agree that the recession was never really about the US being too capitalist, it was more about cronyism and greed in the banking industry. I dont think its a coincidence that Germany had some of the tightest banking regulations before the recession and suffered less than many other countries when the recession hit (though one of their big banks did go under iirc).

The fact that these subprime mortgage derivatives were getting AAA ratings from credit bureaus is a fuging joke and should be a huge disgrace to the entire investment banking industry IMO

Also, "capitalism or socialism" is a false dichotomy. Much like "conservatism or liberalism" today.

I take it you absolve the Fed of any involvement in the recession?

so you don't think my money should be stolen at gunpoint to protect "private property" (a social construct)?

or is the social contract only bad when it's something you don't like?
