Bobcats hire Brunson (assistant coach) and waive Moon

5 posts in this topic

BJ Evans: The @bobcats have waived small forward Jamario Moon. He signed as a FA on April 15 and appeared in eight (8) games. Twitter

There's two good moves lol.

With Moon waived, our current roster looks like this...

(Roster: 13: Spots Remaining: 2)

PG- D.J. Augustin, Kemba Walker

SG- Ben Gordon, Gerald Henderson, Reggie Williams, Matt Carroll

SF- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Taylor

PF- Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

C- Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop

Note: If I'm not mistaken, Brunson and Dunlap worked together under George Karl for the Nuggets.

So DJ White is not under contract, and the QO's made to Augustine and Brown mean they are only ours if another team does not offer more, or do they not have to accept those offers and go unrestricted?

D.J. White was a restricted free agent but since we didn't present him with a qualifying offer, he is now an unrestricted free agent.

The qualifying offers to Augustin (no e) and Brown keep them under contract as long as the Bobcats choose to match any offer that either one might get (if they do happen to get any).

The only way that Brown or Augustin could have become unrestricted free agents is if the Bobcats chose not give them qualifying offers.

Augustin may receive some interest from the Lakers or another team that is in the market for a point guard, but other then that the Bobcats will most likely lock down both with a two or three year deal.

Note: The only players that are eligible to be restricted free agents are those that have four years or less of experience.

Im not seeing why we tendered Derrick Brown. I love his play, but with MKG and Jeff Taylor, you would think we were going to give the majority of PT to those guys and DBrown wouldnt want to sit behind them.

idk..thats why im behind this computer and not calling the shots. They know better than I do.

now let's just get rid of Carroll, Diop, Brown and Thomas and I'd be pretty happy.

    • Cam will get the calls.  The hits to Cam head was too much of a talking point in a negative manner towards the NFL last year.  The discussion on the hits to his head were part of the reason this rule change was made.  NFL tried to paint the picture that Cam was being treated the same as other QBs while coming up with new ways to say he wasn't protected by the rule when an obvious miss call was made.  Ex. wrapping technique when hit low in the pocket.  Posture when hit in the pocket in the head.  Then this offseason they change the rule to make it look like they were proactive in protecting players.  Cam will get the calls and they will toot their own horn saying how the change in the rule is working.

    • God I hope that's a smokescreen comment.
