I believe Cam's stats will sore this year. Last year, he really didn't have a legit number two target. Now with Gettis coming back, I believe Cam's stats for passing yards will be greater. (Considering Gettis is back to full speed) The only drop I see in his stats, may be in his rushing yards.

Yet all in all, I believe he will be great this year. Remember, after his two 400+ yard games, he failed to get 300 yards from that point on. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong. He may have gotten 300 in that Bears game) So if we can get 5+ 300 yard games this season, his passing yards will increase by default.

Did I miss something or didn't LaFell take that #2 spot? Gettis won't be nothing more then a #3. LaFell has already proven he is a legit #2.

lafell kind of solidly took that #2 spot.

forget what the pundits and hacks are saying online and on tv. lafell is that #2 WR and he's solid as can be. the reason he didn't "beat out" naanee for half the season last year or whatever was he didn't really have a chance to. naanee had the job because he knew the system. he was here largely to help the WRs learn it and to have someone here on the field who was comfortable with it. once lafell was comfortable, he had the job.

gettis may have been the guy tagged for the #2 job before his injury, but lafell is the guy who showed up and won it.

lafell will do everything a #2 WR is supposed to do. he's not a household name, at least not yet, but he doesn't have to be. he just has to be a solid and reliable target, which he is.

imo, he's absolutely proven himself there.

i can see it. i'm more comfortable saying a 9-10 win season, but there's absolutely no reason that we can't be a 10+ win team next year. if the defense improves and can turn around the way i think it will...if the special teams can just not suck...this team is pretty near unstoppable.

As far as Newton is concerned, Cam may take a step back in the way of stats but will likely do so as he takes a step forward in the way of wins. I think he values wins more.

The Andy Dalton camp would call this scenario a step forward overall since to them, more wins means "better quarterback". The FF gurus will make a big scene out of his diminished "production" and that will make news but really none of the stats matter. Cam's job is to make the offense work and to take over the game when the game needs taking over. His job is not to help us win our office FF league or set records every week so we can have bragging rights around the water cooler. I think he is going to be very good and has a strong possibility to be great. I want him to be around awhile. Leading off Sports Center every Monday morning is not a priority for me when it comes to the Panthers. I just want him to learn the offense, keep his cool, make his reads, and get the ball out of his hands. After that I don't give a poo what list he makes or what talking heads anoint him a boom or a bust.

it wouldn't shock me of last season turns out to be the only season Cam throws for 4000 yards, at least in this offense. I imagine our offensive philosophy being such that 250 yards passing and 200 rushing per game is the ideal balance. We aren't going to be a passing dominated offense unless teams decide to take away the run and make us beat them throwing like they used to always do. That means Cam only maybe throws for 3500 yards but hopefuly his TD's go up and his turnovers go down while total offensive yards and points scored increase. That doesn't mean I don't think Cam will be capable of 4000 yards only that we would prefer not to have him throwing 35 times a game. Having a decent defense and special teams will also help us maintain a more balanced offense this season (hopefully).

If our D plays poorly Cam will have plenty of chances to throw for 300.

i want to see a 4000+ yard passing and 3000+ yard rushing year from this offense. i think it can pull it off.

that is...i'd rather see us win a few superbowls more, but i think this would be really cool to see and i think we've got the players/scheme/coaching to pull it off.

I think RG3 will take a step back as hyped up as Skins fans have him out to be.
