Serious Question?

I'm not talking about who got traded here or who resigned with the team.
Who has ever wanted to come and play for the Bobcats from another team?

You cant sign good free agents unless you are under the salary cap. Occasionally contending teams will land a decent player with the MLE, but those guys usually end up overpaid. Until now the bobcats havent been under the salary cap since, idk, the Jason Richardson trade?

Didn't they sign Vince Carter and Caron Butler in the last few years? Miami don't have money but they have had a few guys in for visits.

I was just thinking of that also.
Almost every single legit players we had came through a trade.

Well Miami and the other serious contenders are going to get the vets chasing a ring for cheap, the bobcats arent in the running for those guys. The other 25 NBA teams have to either overpay in free agency or have some other connection (Dragic used to play in PHX, Jamison is looking at us b/c he played college here).
Butler was a trade, Vince was well past his prime when they signed him
You have a point though. Now that the Bobcats have the cap space they need to use it this year or next

I don't want them to overspend but dam we could have went after Hibert. We could have given Hawes 21 mil.
We could be trying to sneak Brook Lopez out of Brooklyn they can't pay him now. How would they match a big contract offer from us?

Going after Hibbert would have been pointless, he has already signed a max offer sheet from the Blazers, and the Pacers will likely match anyways. What else could we have offered? And if you are complaining about the team's rebounding, I wouldnt go after Brook Lopez, the worst rebounding 7 footer I've ever seen.
Hawes would be a nice add though, especially if we could sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal

While Brook isn't a good rebounder he is a great low post scorer and passer which is something we've needed since we had the franchise.

All you need to do is read quotes on Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson when they left Charlotte. Guys will come here once this team improves.
