Not sure whats more silly, the extreme outrage over the autographs or the extreme outrage over the extreme outrage over the autographs.

If you feel really strongly either way, you need a hobby.

What if I'm outraged over your lack of outrage

Not sure the Observer likes JR very much!!! Lets see in 2010 they destroyed any morale of our team by every day talking how cheap JR was and they sold that BS to the fans, the community, but they sold it to our players, we know the rest.

Now we got a QB that will take us to the Promised Land, so what they do all they can to make him not like the place that fate has put him in.

You can spin anything to be what you want it to be. Cam could have been out trying to make a living the way the rest of the QB's of any reputation are in the off season but no he is a money hungry player digging for a few more dollars acording to them.

Wonder how they make Cam feel???

Most of us love Cam but that is not the question but how much Cam loves us.. Observer don't like JR!!

Scott Fowler and people like him are rabid about conformity. Small town thinking at its finest.

Well, I said it in the other thread: there is no overreaction, just a normal reaction in my estimation. The whole situation is more pretentious than contentious. I don't like the fact that this aspect of sports marketing is so pervasive, but I am not going to exhibit histrionics because of my perceived ills of our capitalistic system. Cam is a product of this society and his generation. I understand what's going on, even if I don't agree with it.

In fact, I could make an argument that the conformity tips the scales in Cam's direction regarding this situation. It would be non-conformist for an athlete not to buckle up under the pressure of making the almighty dollar.

Personally, I don't believe that this is about small town thinking. Even in small towns you have business owners who are disciples of Mark Cuban and the rest of the financiers on Shark Tank. I think that it's more of being wistful, reminiscent of a more down-to-earth America thing.
