Much of the success will depend on how well key players come back from injuries. If we can get back Beason at 100% or close to it and Ron Edwards we should be able to stop the bleeding in our run defense. The addition of Luke should also give us a big boost for our run defense and help cover TEs and rbs used as receivers.I am uncertain how much better our secondary will be but we should be able to keep the double teams off CJ which should improve qb pressure. My prediction is our defense will be in the middle of the pack.

Agree with middle of the pack this season, but it should be good enough to protect leads and decide a couple games in a positive way, contrary to last season.

Agreed middle of the pack is a big improvement form near last.

Also think we will have the opportunity to get a few more turnovers. I think the improvements should translate into at least 3 more wins this year.

I am very high on Alexander and Norman as rooks

Oh yeah, not to mention Luuuuuke.

with:

Hardy healthy,

a full year in the system for the young DT's,

Beason and Davis back in at LB along with Luke and Anderson,

Norman battling Hogan and the incumbents for the 2nd CB spot

two svelte-ish beastly athletes in Applewhite and Alexander ready to spell the ends in rotation

well I am happy about where the defense is headed.... what did I miss (yep, I'm greedy)

Fua looks to be in good shape. He kinda looked like a lego man last year, seems to have toned out his frame. Hardy looks massive.

If we can get just one more stud Dlinemen other than CJ and Norman is competitive as a number 2 corner then this defense is going to be good enough to get into the playoffs.

An improved pass rush will do wonders to help cover for a lacking secondary. I think if our defense finishes middle of the pack, we will have enough to get into the playoffs if nothing disastrous happens with the offense. I am very interested to see what RR can do with this crew... ESPECIALLY if the LB corps remains as strong as the starting lineup we have right now.

Just get those 3rd downs taken care of and generate some turnovers...yardage is gonna happen with ATL, NO and and improved Passing O in Tampa.

Middle of the pack is 4 wins last season easy.
