Whaaaaaaaaaat???
Yeah, definitely hope that isn't true. But, I honestly wouldn't be shocked. Gettis seems to have been in Rivera's doghouse since day one. If this really is true, it's a cannon ball across the bow for Jeff Otah too. He better be ready to work HARD.
I'd be surprised, too. Gettis would add a whole new aspect to the offense.
Where is TRD when you need him? LOL dude lives in Cali and I'm sure has seen this guy up close more than the average Panther fan.

big guy with speed. has some injury problems in the past but could be a decent pick up. want to know what was given up in the trade, but hope we still take a WR early in the draft next year because it is some studs that may come out.
We won't be picking high enough hopefully, but if we are....

While this guy is nice to add to the roster. Panthers really need to look into drafting a top WR next year in the draft to start grooming to replace smith in the next few years. Having a bunch of ok WRs on the team ain't going to help us win games. Cam needs some true weapons to throw to in the coming years. This is ok for the moment. But in the next few years. The panthers need to look at drafting a great WR in the first round of the draft.
agree.

Seeing as our track record with USC receivers has been so good...(old ass Keyshawn and Dwayne "DUI" Jarrett) Not to mention most receivers from USC haven't been good recently. Look what happened to Jarrett's WR buddy, fake Steve Smith. Maybe this guy will be different, but i won't hold my breath.

Are there any players of value on the panthers that equal Murphy's? I'm thinking it might be just some draft picks. Any LB's CB's or TE's worth trading for Murphy? Draft picks would be nice but an extra young player on defense would be good too with addition of draft picks.
They'd have to be out of their minds to give us a 4th or 5th rounder. Maybe a 7th, MAYBE
Yeah I'd guess a 6th that switches to a 5th if he plays in 12 games or something like that.
Carolina draft picks will be more valuable than Oakland draft picks, so I'm okay with this.
$1.372M in cap according to this site.
