without reading through this thread, why in the fug does a thread about how awful romney is wrt foreign policy have over 60 replies? is there actually any debate here (romney is really, really dumb when it comes to foreign policy. this isn't up for debate), or are the republicans playing "b-b-b-but obama" and/or "LOL HUFFYTEHPOOPOO" again

I'll accept that, and respect your POV, but I would also counter that he and I have exchanged some personal ideology in the course of conversation that made that a little more personal. I actually count him among one of my friends so when we argue it is what it is... he just didn't need what I percieved as a personal comment the added extra to prove his point..and for what it is worth he still is a friend as I hope you are. Diversity and differnent view points within the people you engage in conversation with only increase understanding, and tolerance, wouldn't you agree?

Its cool. I just use the typewriter comment a lot (not here, but at work) and wanted to ensure that no one took it as an insult. :)

WARSAW, Poland -- Mitt Romney suggested Monday that Israelis enjoy a better standard of living than neighboring Palestinians do because they have a superior culture and enjoy the "hand of providence." The remarks set off an outcry from Palestinians, one of whom accused Romney of racism.

why the outrage over this? Palenstine will still get a few billion a year from the US so their leaders will share with the people like they always do...oh. ok maybe not.

Yes. I'd rather vote for someone who talks poo about Palestine than someone who will work to weaken US defenses because Putin gets upset.

Mitt Romney's traveling press secretary is quite the charmer

At a public plaza near the memorial, journalists from CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post asked Mr Romney about "mishaps" and "gaffes" on his trip.

But Mr Gorka said: "Kiss my ass. This is a holy site for the Polish people."

He then told a reporter from Politico to "shove it". The press secretary called correspondents soon afterwards to apologise.

I can see Mitt leading the next attempt at the peace process, should be a hoot.

"Hey Palestinians, this is all the fault of your culture. Replace it with something like Israels, and we'll talk"

Fwiw, all the Arab nations have had problems embracing a modern economy. The only ones doing well are the ones that have a lot of oil. So he is not necessarily wrong, but he does need to learn that a presidential candidate can't say such things.

So you would say the number one reason that the Palestinian economy is in the state it is in is because they haven't embraced a "modern economy"? That may be one factor, but I would hazard to say there may be a little bit more going on there.
