A co-worker who witnessed the shooting said Rainey had knocked on Roop’s door, but received no answer. While Rainey was walking down the drive-way, Roop pulled up in his pickup truck and asked why Rainey was at his house. Rainey explained that he was selling steak and seafood. The witness said Roop then pulled out a black handgun and shot Rainey. As Rainey lay on the ground, Roop fired another bullet into the back of his head.

They might also look at repeal of the SYG law.

As some state lawmakers are calling for a re-thinking of Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which allows people to defend themselves from danger without the need to first try to get away, an analysis of state data shows deaths due to self defense are up over 200 percent since the law took effect.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Florida experienced an average of 34 “justifiable homicides” before 2005; two years after the Stand Your Ground law was enacted, the number jumped to more than 100. Similarly disturbing spikes have been found in other states with similar laws

A man who avoided a murder charge just months ago thanks to Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law was one of two men shot to death in Miami Tuesday night.

According to the Miami Herald, the man shot in the truck was Greyston Garcia, who was granted immunity in March under the controversial self-defense law following a stabbing.

Garcia had chased down and stabbed a thief who had broken into his truck after the thief swung a bag filled with heavy car radios at him,according to the Herald.

Police believe Garcia was an innocent bystander in Tuesday's shooting, the Herald reported.

Why would you want to repeal a law which is not a part of a homicide?

Carry Conceal,or SYG has anything to do with this murder.

Stand your ground against salesmen? Don't think it applies. Not that it will stop your rants.

Agreed, the stand your ground law has nothing to do with this, since the homeowner was in no danger. Homeowner is a murderer, pure and simple.
