I don't place full blame on him for how he looked in 2009. I blame John Fox for having a blind eye and refusing to bench him. I still love everything Delhomme did for us and the guy was as clutch of a quarterback as you'll find from '03-'08, even when he began to just start chucking it up to Smith in 2008. Our team just found a way.

I think it would be great if Jake did come back to work for us. He has a lot of fire, drive, and passion. That being said, he won't.

And I agree with Mage. Fox bears the brunt of the blame for 2009. It was obvious Jake had lost it, and couldn't go on, but Fox stuck with him even when it was obvious that Moore was the better choice.

Say what you want about him but, to this day I think he was the main reason we went to that super bowl back in the 03 season!

I hope when Jake is finally 100% sure he is done, that the Panthers sign him to a 1 day contract and allow him to retire a Panther.

Delhomme was never an all world quarterback, but for years, he was good enough to take us to the playoffs. Some of my favorite memories as a Panther fan revolve around Jake: Jaguars game, Rams game, Super Bowl, San Diego, etc. While the end of his stay here with the Panthers is not how any of us wanted it to go down, I think he gets way too bad a wrap around here.

He was a great leader for this franchise, excellent around the community, and for the most part, played the position well enough to win. Hopefully everyone can come around one day and appreciate what he did here.
