The 2012-13 CFB season could see yet another champion out of the SEC. LSU and Bama will certainly still be contenders to bring home the title once again for the SEC. Also, this year 2 new members were added to the league with Texas A&M (West) and Mizzou (East). Should be a fun and wide open year in the SEC.

SEC EAST

Florida: Finished last season with a disappointing 7-6 season. But with stable QB play and one of the best defenses in the SEC, the Gators could see a jump in the win column.

Key Players: DT Sharrif Floyd, LB Jelani Jenkins, LB Jon Bostic, S Matt Elam

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Georgia: Have yet another another easy schedule that should put them as favorites to win the East. RB Crowell was kicked off team but look for freshman and NC native, Keith Marshall to fill in right away.

Key Players: QB Aaron Murray, DT John Jenkins, LB Jarvis Jones, S Bacarri Rambo

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Kentucky: Not looking good for Joker Phillips as he will have to prove himself after a disappointing year. Not many bright spots on this team and should finish last in the East.

Key Players: RB Josh Clemons, OL Larry Watford, DE Collins Ukwu, S Martavius Nelson

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Mizzou: New comer to the East but don't expect them to finish any higher that 4th while adjusting to SEC play. They do get top recruit, WR Dorial Green-Beckham, a target for James Franklin.

Key Players: QB James Franklin, WR Dorial Green-Backham, LB Zavier Gooden, CB EJ Gaines

__________________________________________________________________________________________

S.Carolina: Now have a stable QB in Shaw who is more than happy to use his legs instead of his arm. Although he doesn't have established targets to throw to, SCAR's defense is good enough to keep them in any game.

Key Players: RB Marcus Lattimore, DE Devin Taylor, DE Jadaveon Clowney, S DJ Swearinger

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Tennessee: With Justin Hunter back healthy, the Vols will have a scary offense. Derek Dooley will need to have a good season as his seat is getting warmer by the year.

Key Players: QB Tyler Bray, WR Justin Hunter, WR Da'Rick Rogers (Dismissed 8/23), LB AJ Johnson

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Vandy: HC James Franklin brought a great attitude to Vandy and their scrappy play was definitely a reflection of their coach.

Key Players: QB Jordan Rodgers, RB Zac Stacy, WR Jordan Matthews, LB Archibald Barnes

__________________________________________________________________________________________

SEC WEST

Alabama: Returning National Champs but I expect them to take a step back this year with the losses of key players. Eddie Lacy has shown that he has the ability to take over as Bama's new go to back.

Key Players: QB AJ McCarron, RB Eddie Lacy, OL DJ Fluker, LB Nico Johnson

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Arkansas: Have to feel good that Nile Davis is returning and WIlson has more year under his belt. But I can't help but think the loss of Petrino will have some effect on the team.

Key Players: QB Tyler Wilson, RB Nile Davis, RB Dennis Johnson, LB Alonzo Highsmith

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Auburn: The Tigers did better than I expected them to do last year. It'll be interesting to see who wins out at the QB position with Frazier getting the slight edge. The loss of Malzahn and Dyer will be a blow.

Key Players: RB Onterio McCalebb, WR Emory Blake, TE Philip Lutzenkirchen, DE Corey Lemonier

__________________________________________________________________________________________

LSU: Should be favorites to win the West and there shouldn't be any controversy at the QB position this year as Mettenberger should be in control under center.

Key Players: RB Spencer Ware, RB Kenny Hilliard, DE Barkevious Mingo, CB Tyrann Mathieu (Dismissed 8/10)

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Ole Miss: Didn't win a SEC game all last year and will be in a very similar position this year. They do get a JUCO transfer at the QB position who is familiar to Hugh Freeze's system.

Key Players: QB Bo Wallace, RB Jeff Scott, WR Donte Moncrief, S Charles Sawyer

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Miss St.: Dan Mullen has done a great job during his time at Miss St. turning the program around. Look for them to be around the middle of the pack in the West as they are always a tough out.

Key Players: QB Tyler Russell, WR Chad Bumphis, LB Cameron Lawrence, CB Johnthan Banks

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Texas A&M: The newcomers in the West will have a rude awakening their first year. One thing that is always consistent with the Aggies is their crowd.

Key Players: RB Christine Michael, WR Ryan Swope, DE Damontre Moore, LB Jonathan Stewart

I think the winner of the LSU/Alabama game will win the conference again. I'm confident in my Vols for the first time in a long time, but not delusional. Tennessee will surprise a lot of people, or else Dooley will be fired by Halloween. UT wins 8 or 9 games.

Rumors Tyrann Mathieu being dismissed for LSU

Don't think this will have that big of an effect in the pass defense. They have Tharold Simon and Jalen Collins.

In the return game, that might be a different story.

Early reports are that he is not expected back with the team. Rumors are floating that it came down from the AD, and it has something to do with an agent, but not confirmed.

I'm convinced that we are cursed. We really had an offense that was going to be as close to unstoppable as we've seen in Knoxville since about 2001. So much for that.

Game time! I predict S.Carolina to win by 2 TDs. Vandy are a scrappy team but if Lattimore gets it going I don't see them having much of a chance.

    • I am a 3 percenter. I am white, married, no children, no debt. I have a pension for the rest of my life, and we have a couple retirement accounts to also use at some point. I own the home I live in, I built and own 50% of the house my in-laws live in and we have our place in Mexico.  If you think for one fugging second that anything Trump does effects my life from one day to the next, you are sadly mistaken.  That being said, I'm also a compassionate human being who cares about the quality of life for other human beings. I've been places and seen both the best and worst of how people live all over the world. The GOP has proven time and again over the past 40 years they couldn't give a sh!t less about blue collar, middle America. The working class for the GOP are nothing but the mules who lug their riches to the bank. The backs of the working class bore not only the labor that made assholes like Trump rich, but they are also the backs the GOP stand on to keep their feet from touching the bullsh!t they spew. While racism has always had its place in politics, the GOP has become very overt in their racism and have added that to the mix as well.  Sad part is, many naive, uneducated people who live in this country and who have been the forced labor in the GOP camp for the last 40 years are supporting such a regime. Why? Because they have no nuance for anything but the very basic and will believe the simpleton idea of "building a wall" before they'll try to educate themselves and become literate with the entire immigration reform issue. They'll buy into the anti-Muslim rhetoric and believe they are the terrorists despite the fact they should more afraid of the teenage white kid down the street who spends most of his time playing video games in the basement and reads Nazi blogs on his lunch hour in the high school cafeteria.
    • @Mr. Scot   I am happy for the good, and sad for the bad, but, I do know you will do alright. Just keep your eye on the prize, and all will be well. You may be losing this family, so you've got that going for you.   Keep Pounding my friend. Keep Pounding.
