it could be that they made it sound worse than it really is (even tho they didn't make it sound bad to begin with). lots of teams find injury excuses so that they can sit the guys they don't want to risk to unnecessary injury in pre-season games.

Anyone who thinks we will see much of the starters this weekend just aren't paying attention. The whole point of preseason is to narrow down the 90 guys who came to camp to our active roster size of 53. The excitement of preseason is to see the second and third team guys not the starters until at least the 3rd preseason game.

there are very few "starters" who should see more than one drive.

Our rookie LG, Bell, Luke, Ss may get some extra work.....but I don't want to see the other guys hardly at all.

And Steve Smith shouldnt play a snap. In any game IMO.

I almost expected this to happen.

Hamstring injuries usually occur when guys try to push past their top speed while running.

Or maybe the ham is making up for weakness somewhere else and was over used. Possible...

No biggie at all. They just need to make sure he does not rush back. It's preseason, let the younger guys out.

Didn't Beason battle a hamstring issue all last pre-season and it was speculated (whether correctly or incorrectly) that it lead to the Achilles injury?

Keep him off the field regardless.
