Has to be in response to how crappy the grass looked in the end zones due to the drought conditions. The east endzone was in pretty poor shape earlier in the year.

the excuse has always been that black paint kills the grass.
Guess monsanto helped out and bred a black fescue for the team.

I think they may have done this last year for the preseason as well. But I can't remember past last week.
