Thought I'd stoke the flames with some bulletin board material. LaGarrette Blount is smelling himself:

"We can definitely be the best duo in the NFL, with the schemes that we have, with the offensive line that we have, with the blocking and the confidence (Martin) has in me and the confidence I have in him," Blount said. "It's definitely going to be a really good fit. We have the potential to be the best backfield in the league."

Within the same write-up on NFL.com, Brian McIntyre correctly gave us our props though:

A professional athlete expressing confidence in his own abilities is nothing new or shocking, so we shouldn't overreact to Blount's comments. For now, though, between the Carolina Panthers' duo of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart and the quartet of running backs on the New Orleans Saints****, Blount and Martin aren't even the best backfield tandem in the NFC South.

After I saw the highlights of their preseason game earlier this morning, I thought to myself "We're gonna beat their asses in the opener!" Can't wait!

"We can definitely be the best..."

he says one thing...your thread title implies something else.

there's nothing wrong with feeling confident about something you think you're capable of.

OK.

Definitely be the best is a little bit more than confidence.

But, for arguments sake, let's say that popcornpopper and TRD can definitely be the best duo in the Huddle.

An overconfident person believes they can do something that is highly unlikely as well (particularly when there is absolutely no such precedence or rationality for their beliefs).

I would say the Saints* have the best backfield. Thomas, Ingram, Sproles, and Ivory.m

Nice to see Saints* fans are humbled after this off-season.

IMO the best posters are found in the "Lovely Ladies" section :)
