Has taken a huge step-back, the guy is just terrible in coverage. Really pissed we signed him to an extension last year, cause he didn't deserve it.

Step back? He has consistantly been one of the worst starting S in the NFL. Some like PFF graded him worst than Martin last year....yet he flies under the radar here in Panther land.

Oh yeah, in 2010 he forced some fumbles and people completely ignored the fact he couldnt cover or tackle someone in the open field.

Godfrey really is badd. I though he was going to explode last year, nothing happend. He looked terrible last night.

Godfrey and Martin were those of Foxy's bad drafts. Where Fox took and tried to convert them into another position, while there were better Safety or CB still on the board.

In all honesty, Rivera praised him last season and he still sucked. He also said Munnerlyn was the Steve Smith of defense. You see where this trend is going?

I don't recall Rivera praising him last season but if he did It wasn't to the extent of saying he's having a " outstanding, outstanding camp".
Wether he will capitalize from it remains to be seen, but that's high talk even if you consider Rivera a natrually complimentary coach.

As for Captian, those comments were based on his likeness to Smith as far as size, and tenacity goes, not talent. And from training camp reports I'd agree with him.

The whole secondary is beyond suspect. It's been bad for a few seasons now. Godfrey seems lost and he's been here how long? I don't buy into guys having to "learn a system" on defense. At the end of the day man up on the receiver. This soft coverage on the seam routes is tired....
