I am confident that Medlock is the better placekicker. But, is he the better kickoff specialist? That short kickoff to the 10 yard line, gave up a touchdown in the preseason game. We can't have that. Hopefully it was a fluke.

Two days after Rivera's message, team intensity is at all-time hugh. Play has been strong today.

@josephperson
Starting to see a pattern with these field goals: Mare two for four, short from 51. Medlock four for four plenty of distance from 51

is someone keeping tabs in here as far as hits/misses between these two.

it seems like most practices medlock is doing better and the most mare has been able to do is tie medlock on the day. looking like medlock is pretty well in the lead.

If Medlock can work on his kickoffs he should win the job, hands down.

rivera better get over his man love over former ex chargers scrubs. there is no way that piece of garbage tutu is the 3rd receiver, he shouldnt be on the damn team.

Agreed, Murphy needs to be the third receiver this Friday night. Lafell better watch out also.

Carolina Panthers@Panthers
CB Josh Norman caps two minute drill with a leaping INT in front of TE Greg Olsen.

Joe Person@josephperson
Josh Norman picks off cam. Good play by Norman came off his receiver to jump the throw to Olsen.

Steve Reed@SteveReed_AP
Josh Norman makes a nice pick on Cam.

Steve Reed@SteveReed_AP
Carolina's three CBs in nickel defense: Chris Gamble, Captain Munnerlyn and Josh Norman.

Jonathan Jones@jjones9
Good pressure from Johnson and McClain on Cam to make him throw it away

had to clean that up to make my eyes hurt less. :)

If the Kickoff team could tackle, it wouldn't have been a TD. The coaching staff needs to start valuing points over kickoffs. Reports through out training camp said Medlock was kicking them into the endzone on every kick. Im pretty sure it was a fluke. Even if he has one bad KO every once in a while, I would be happy knowing that he can be reliable in tight games. The KO team should be able to tackle a returner. There's just no excuse for that.

@SteveReed_AP

Panthers rookie RB Tauren Poole carted into the locker room, but unclear what's wrong. Poole scored Carolina's only TD Saturday night.
