Armanti isn't faster he may be quicker but not faster

Armanti had a 4.41 pro-day 40 compared to Pilares' 4.42. Edwards low is also a 4.37 compared to Pilares 4.40.

They are pretty much the same in straight line speed, with Edwards having a slight edge.

lmao no he didnt

from what i remember he had two terrible boneheaded kickoff returns and 1 catch

he doesnt belong on this team and he will get cut eventually anyway. he obviously will never be on the field at receiver in the regular season with how Murphy is playing and he is completely boneheaded on kickoff returns.

You said he was slow and couldn't be a receiver. He caught a pass over the middle and displayed his speed. You sir are a faggot.

I didn't say he couldn't be a receiver, I said he isn't a good (not even close to approaching average honestly) receiver and he isn't a good kick off returner and thus should not make the roster. And I'm 100% right. Sorry if that upsets you

Maybe you guys will see the light after a few back of the endzone takeouts to the 15 yard line and DNPs at receiver this season. When Armanti gets cut you will all jump on him next. I'm just a step ahead of you idiots.

Pilares is ok but there is nothing about him that puts me on the edge of my seat at this point, unless he developes a fumbling problem...not seeing any exceleration when it needs to happen....

And you are basing this evaluation on what? Have you watched him extensively at camp? Because none of us have seen enough of him in games to make that kind of statement. When they have called his number, he has responded well, and that's all you can ask.

For whatever reason (and I assume it is man love for Armanti) it is clear you don't like Pilares, and that's fine. Just don't expect anyone else to necessarily share that opinion without some visual evidence.

And you're getting this from? Very curious as to where you're getting your opinion from. Is it his two solid preseason performances? The fact that his teamates have spoken nothing but good about him? I'm sure you've studied the tape and came to a conclusion.

No one is saying he's Smitty, or he should be starting. He looks like avery versatile Slot Recevier/4th WR. Get your goddamn head out of your ass.

Since when did you have future sight?

Like where is your proof he'll have takeouts tothe 15 yard line? Or that he won't play? Oh right. You have none.

So jesus christ shut the fug up. It doesn't matter if he preforms well or not he was a 5th round draft pick who is currently preforming well.

All it sounds like right now is a player you don't like is on the team and it hurts your poor wittle feefees and you pretend like what you're stating is fact when it clearly fuging isn't.

I don't agree that Pilares is less versatile than AE, but to his credit, he did have 2 catches (not 1) last night. I want to see how well he plays against better competition.

Not in the least.

But I'll bump this thread after the season when Pilares gets less than 100 yards receiving in garbage time (obviously he will playing behind Smitty, Lafell, Murphy, Gettis). I wonder if everyone will still be pretending he's useful. Just let Adams return kicks stop wasting roster spots

Dear VIP,

I respect your right to post unfounded opinions about our Flyin' Hawaiin, however, I personally am on the opposite spectrum of this. The kid has talent and can be a major force as a slot receiver for us. He's only in his 2nd year and this is his true first offseason. Development takes some time. 89 wasn't an all-pro overnight. I'm not saying KP will be like 89, I'm just saying WR typically takes 3 years to develop.

He's not world class, that we know of yet, but he's surely not pure garbage that we know of yet either.

That pass he caught against Miami was pretty exciting.

His KR TD def padded his KR stats last year, but if you actually watched it in-depth, you'd see how close he was to busting through the seam on multiple occasions. KR is about more than pure ability from the return man, it's about blocking as well. And I'm not sure you noticed, but our ST blocking was putrid last year.

This preseason, you can bet the only reason he took those deep kick offs out of the endzone is because it's preseason and games don't matter. They're about evaluation, and coaches can't evaluate ST blocking and performance on touch backs.

If you subtract his fluke 101 yard TD return he's one of the worst in the league

You don't subtract the best play a player has when evaluating where he stands in the league, unless you do it to all the other returners, too. Considering that in the return game, those "fluke returns" are extremely important (also, fluke? He had a near TD in a different return but got injured) when evaluating KRs.

It makes sense to subtract an outlier especially since he has a lot fewer yards/attempts than most of the leaders in return yardage. If all it takes is 1 return to take your statistics from top tier to bottom tier then to me thats an outlier that should be removed. if you take Joe McKnights best return and subtract from his stats he's still 1st in the league in yards/return (and he has over 1000 yards anyway), so he's probably not a fluke. yeah it was a nice 1 play but...its just 1 play. The reality is over the course of a season Pilares is a below average kickoff returner. Start Adams.
