Why would we want him? Dude's basically another Pilares but white.

Pilares is 5'10.. Shipley is 6ft, hes got very good hands...
Smitty, Lafell, Murphy, Gettis, Shipley, Pilares, Adams.. its possible we
could carry 7 recievers, just carry one less D-lineman. Were already
deep at WR, but that would make us unbelievably deep.. with that said
I don't see us chasing him

Wonder if The Golden Calf of Bristol will lobby Jets management to go after him.

We need players that are ready to ball now, not players that need time to heal...

I thought this guy would be a Solid possession guy. I'm not gonna throw out a white wide receiver to compare him to.

I remember wanting him in that draft. God I hope he ends up on the team.

Just to close the loop on this thread, Shipley was awarded on waivers to the Bucs. If he recovers, we'll see plenty of him.

Not quite sure why they picked him up however, Bucs are fairly stacked at WR.

lafell gettis murphy pilares and adams are all young so really his age isn't a benefactor. He doesn't contribute to special teams like adams and pilares. He doesn't have the size of lafell gettis or murphy. We already have what like 5 guys fighting for spot number 7? if we even have 7 spots? I doubt he'd even agree to come into our situation, it seems like it'd be a waste of his time.

Bucs picked him up. Hope this doesn't screw us over in the next couple of years.

josh freeman is their QB.

their coach is an old school ball control run first college level HC with his cast of old college level coaches.

not worried.

Not to mention it's Jordan Shipley, not Larry Fitzgerald.

he would have been a solid WR if he wasn't hurt...not spectacular...just solid (reliable). not wes welker...just solid.

at this point he's just a gamble that the team he was drafted by wasn't interested in keeping even for the first round of cuts.

Hell yes! That is just what we need! Another ? To toss into the mix.

If the bangles cut him at this point in the preseason, what does that say? Didnt even make it to the first set of cuts? Bad news

Pretty much my take on it too. Shipley was a player I really wanted. His knee must have really slowed him down or he just isn't better.

He'll sign with NE and they'll waive Welker.
