Saw the headline (Electoral College Prediction Says Candidate Will Win Easily) and then saw it was Huffpo. Then I opened it and was shocked...

Just a call for more aggressive campaigning.
I think the race is much closer than what that model suggests.

Why is that surprising? There are numerous models that predict Obama winning.

Not surprisingly, if your only evidence for a democratic incumbent facing a slumping economy in recent memory is Jimmy Carter, and you build your model around the parameters that a democrat in that position is going to lose his "incumbency bump," you're probably going to predict a democrat incumbent facing a slumping economy is doomed to fail to get re-elected.

Unfortunately, I think that drastically understates the massive problems that people had with the Carter administration outside of that.

This election is close right now, and Romney could blow it away... but so could Obama, especially if the economy improves a bit over the next few months.

This election will be a prime example of MOST voters voting against one specific candidate rather than truly FOR either candidate.

Obama has been a joke of a President. Doing nothing for the economy, increasing spendng and deficits by Trillions, and most people see and understand this. However, Romney is not a strong candidate either. He is kind of meh.

We are truly going to try and elect the lesser of two bad candidates.

There are models that predict Romney wins, and models that predict Obama wins.

The model that this article was discussing basically had one example to draw from of an incumbent democrat facing re-election when the economy wasn't great, and that was Jimmy Carter.
