I look at this as a statement game!

A suggestion for a Times headline Monday morning: The Jets Have Landed!
"Team Game vs. Team Lame!" That's how I see it. We need to crush these guys in their house. Anything else is almost embarrassing. That's my mindset. I'm not trying to be a homer, overly optimistic or anything. We should roll them up. What say you?

Also, our O went against a joke D last week and NY faced probably the worst matchup there OL could of seen last week.....that distorts things to a degree.

If we crush them, it's not going to put the league on notice about us, it will just re affirm how horrible the Jets are. If we leave this game with no injuries then it's a victory for us. If we are dominating them in the first quarter like we did to miami, just pull the starters. we should get those guys on the cut bubble sorted out.

This game means NOTHING. Won't help us get to the playoffs.
While I would love to see the offense score on every possession. Defense shut them down. In the long run we aren't going to show our offense and probably won't show much of our defense.

I think this board will have a mini breakdown on Monday. I don't think people at the moment realize how good the Jets D is....how Smitty impacts our first team O, and the fact Chud/Rivera have limited what Cam does in the preseason vs regular season for the 2nd year in a row.....what all that equals is a letdown for those thinking we go embarrass the Jets in NY.

I think you underestimating our O. Smith not being there hurts absolutely, but we have weapons
With that being said, there's no need to a have any type of breakdown over a preseason game unless we flat out just look terrible. Just remember defenses get tired, so if the offense not helping them they will get tired

sounds like you might be the first one to post about the season being over. we should kill them, but their D is still great, and at the same time we are showing nothing on offense. I would not be surprised if their QBs light us up just because that's the way things happen. No Smith will really hurt.

I'm not understand what you're trying to say? We're going to get our asses handed to us Sunday?

With that kind of expectation, you will only be disappointed.
This, being the third preseason game, which the starters play the longest, is the most exciting of the preseason games.

No such thing as a preseason statement game.

it is the most exciting but it is still pointless.
coaches arent calling plays to win the game, they are looking at very specific things out of specific players that we really cant see when watching.
even if we get whooped but say the game fully solidifies who we are playing at certain positions (cb #2, the whole WR mess, mclain's backup, etc) then it's a victory in the coaches eyes.
