Lucky for us, under Rivera & Chud, our defense isn't one dimensional anymore.

He's who they should focus on.

I like Revis but this is kind of douchey of the Jets. Why are you gameplanning/specifically scheming for a team/player in the preseason?

Teams typically gameplay for this game.

You do realize that the QB doesn't keep the ball on an option, right? He has the option of keeping it, or lateraling it to the RB if they come after him. He can even run a reverse to a WR.

If they key on Cam, he pitches it to DWill or Stewie. If they play off, he can run it or toss a pass to a TE. There are several options, hence the name of the play.

Well there you go. Gave some information to back up your hypothesis. Nice job with that part. Unfortunately, you are still off base as to why we do not run our Spread Option. The Jets game is still a glorified practice. The only time Cam will cross the line of scrimmage is on a scramble. If then.

During the regular season this play is a staple in our Offense. Not so much during preseason. Just too much wear and tear on Cam.

I admire your spunk. Don't ever loose that. You may just want to temper that spunk with a few moments of reflection on where we are at the moment. We have yet to prove ourselves out in the real world. Running Cam willy nilly in the preseason is counter intuitive to sustained long term growth.

Well the read option out of the spread has no pitch.....QB can keep it and run of he gets the D to collapse on the RB.

The bulk of our "option" plays were spread option....or zone read if you prefer. No pitch and Cam keeping it is part of that option play.

But they don't use that in preseason. Didn't last year. Haven't this year in preseason.

If DWill is trailing that play there could be a pitch to him. He has torched that play. Stew has torched that play. And Cam has torched that play. I love that play. But there can be a pitch involved.

Actually we did pitch it to D-Lo, off the read option before, after faking it to Stew. It was in the last game against the Bucs, and It was ran to the right side for a TD. That was the only time we ever ran that play. It's on the NFL Films video towards the end if you don't recall.

The difference between Cam and The Golden Calf of Bristol is that Cam can actually throw, so that's something else to worry about.

Their pass D will suffer from that since it takes Timmay 5 seconds to throw a pass

And he still manages to miss his intended target...his receiver's knee-cap.

The first half of tonights game is as close to a real game as were gonna get for 2 weeks. Was watching the Texans Saints* last night, first half was actual football, didnt look like preseason. Dress Rehearsal so we may see a few rinkles in the o

But then it isnt the basic spread option when ran. More of a tweak and rare play. Traditional spread option just has the 1 RB and that is what we mainly ran.
