So after working there today I saw nothing but a bunch of people going from booth to booth looking for free handouts. Imagine that.

Yeah, this thread wasn't meant to be political; just posted in The Tinderbox because I knew it would become political.

Really not much happening in town yet. People have been scouting the neighborhood I live in, but have not disrupted anything. Some woman was detained uptown a bit ago apparently because she 'looked suspicious' but was later released. Taking pictures of stuff is no longer tourism I guess.

A lot of people did take the week off, and commerce is pretty slow today.

Note to people not from Charlotte: If passers-by say 'hey' to you, or use some variation of acknowledging your existence, they probably don't know you and are just being polite. I am looking at you, 'guy who went out of his way to stop me' after I mildly waved in passing him during an AM park run.

Weather is the reason being given, but who knows. Supposed to be around a 50% chance of rain through the weekend.

Why don't you all just say that God is making it rain because he hates Democrats and get it over with?

A relative for some reason took it upon herself to try and get me a ticket for this thing the past two days and was called by the DNC to let her know there are no tickets available.

Because I think that's as stupid as assuming God diverted Isaac for the RNC convention.

Did you loan your relative your kneepads?

She took it upon herself, and to make it really wierd shes not "actually" a relative, and is responsible for about 25 percent of the pics I post in the stupid conservative memes thread.

Some guy is protesting something, driving around the neighborhood and honking his horn. He has a giant sign on top of his car (accord?) that is impossible to read each time he passes. Pretty sure it is a bible passage and will try to snap a pic if he comes by again.
