I don't know what it is about AE that makes posters go full retard with logical fallacies.

• AE was drafted in the 3rd round at the costs of a future 2nd.
  Since when did draft position have any effect on the player's ability to produce on the field? Does their draft position dictate whether or not they will be a good player? Did AE make the price and force the Panthers to pay it? This needs to be let go. New England iirc was interested in AE which prompted Carolina to trade up for him.
• He hasn't had a catch in his first two NFL seasons
  His first NFL season was with John Fox who clearly did not care for the pick, and even went on record saying that "it didn't look good" in regards to AE developing as a player. It's also come to light that Fox and Friends were causing rifts with the team while they left, as revealed by Smitty in a recent article. Oh, did I mention that he hadn't ran routes since HS? Yet he's supposed to come make an immediate impact on the football field? That's like expecting TheOracle or King Tarq to make an intelligent contribution to a thread. It's unrealistic and downright foolish.
• He was a horrible return man and should be cut for it
  He was a QB throughout college. How many posters here expect Dernard Robinson to be a return monster when he's done QBing for Michigan? Anybody? No? Then why was it expected of AE? Because of the draft cost that he had no control over?

  Yes, because as mentioned already, cutting Jake, Mare, Norwood, Brown, Butler, Shelton, etc really shows that. Dwayne Jarrett doesn't seem to be here anymore either.

After Joe Adams muffed that punt I suddenly missed Armanti's reliability fielding a ball. He didn't make a single mistake fielding punts last season, and only fair caught the ball 9 times so he was under some pressure for most of those punts. Didn't do anything great with them, granted, but with our offense which would you prefer? A high risk, high reward guy like Adams or someone who will never lose a posession for us?

He was able to make the jump from lost to reliable in one season. No reason to doubt he can make the jump from reliable to effective this season.

Armanti has put more than his fair share of balls on the ground....not sure he qualifies as Mr. Reliable bc he didn't fumble one away 1 season.

The issue is whether he deserves another year or not. He went from horrible to no mistakes in one year. So granted, the floor was very low, but the rate of progress is pretty impressive and IMO means we're better off seeing what we have in another year than carrying a 9th OL or DB that we didn't draft.

Lowest punt return yards in the NFL with no turnovers is going to start to look appealing if Adams has trouble with ball security.

Adams is a straight up playmaker....he isn't a Mark Jones. If you choose to go with a playmaker....they will give you some errors. That goes for all positions. Smitty, Cam, etc....scoring geared playmakers will have some fug ups.

Dude? Do you read what you post? AE did improve drastically last year as to catching the ball. Just because his return yardage does not meet your satisfaction, you call him lousy. The best PR only get 5 or so more yards than AE. Is that extra 5 yards really that important? With our O? Only to you, and a few others.

Armanti lead the league with 0 muffs. What part of that do you have a problem with? So what the return yards were minimal? He never cost us a possession. Whereas, Adams has 4 turnovers in four games. Yeah, that will turn some heads. The wrong way.

Ask Sproles, or Tolbert, or any of 20 playmakers that do not put the ball on the ground. Naming a few guys, then saying playmakers make mistakes, is exactly how you make a point. Using your own logic as a fact. Not a bad way to debate when it works.

Adams has potential. As of right now. He has plenty of time to work on his skills. Cuz this preseason has hurt him, big time. IMO, Adams is lucky he did not start the year on PS. If Rivera could have sent him down, he damm sure may have.

Adams has done so well that AE made the team. I would be willing to bet that AE is our starting PR this year.
