''Terrell played well in spots for us last year but every year you have to be the best you can at evaluating players,'' Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said. ''It was just a lack of consistency plus the fact that we had an opportunity to get a guy like Dwan Edwards.''

Not to damper the enthusiasm, but Buffalo wouldn't have cut him if he were a " dominant force " on the inside as some here seem to think. I am just hoping he doesn't look like a dancing bear on roller skates like McClain did. Any thing else is gravy.

I think it was more his 4.1 million cap hit that Buffalo would take for a back up. Its also interesting to note that the Bills cut him because he wouldn't fit their new 4-3 scheme.

By the way, JOAT, I am seriously disappointed in you. Earlier today, I saw a post in which you used the word "allot" to describe "many". We all know you are the unofficial grammar nazi, so you should know better.

Everyone with half a brain knows the correct spelling is "alot". ;)

Damn, sorry about that. I be slipping.

Still, if he were a pro bowl, or dominant player, they'd find a way to keep him. As to you're 2nd point I had the same question, how different is their 4-3 compared to the scheme we play.

they have arguably the best dt tandem in the league (dareus/kyle williams) that leaves dwan as an expensive backup in their 4-3 scheme

Buffalo has a pretty good damn DL, don't think I'd pay 4 mil for a quality DT considering who he's behind.

Dwan got off the plane as our 2nd best DT. I was over on the Bills message board, and a lot of there fans seems to think he's the worse run support DT in the league. I hope not!

For those hoping Hardy will develop..

I'm gonna say he's reached his ceiling. He's a finished product. His body is maxed out. He's not going to magically get any more explosive. With CJ, Edwards, and Edwards...all we need Hardy to do is hold the edge and mix a sack every now and then. He's no Charles Johnson and he won't turn into one.

This line improved with Dwan. I'm excited to see this group vs Tampa

ron and dwan edwards...cool.

their only job will be to collapse the pocket.

i now feel better about the interior of the defensive line.

I love that Rivera explains moves where Fox was all secret about why the roster sucks.

He is plenty explosive, he just can't put it together between his ears. Physically, only Peppers was more gifted athletically of D-Linemen who played here. As for him being a finished product, he could be, I'm holding out a little hope, but not much.
