FYI, peanuts are not nuts. They are legumes.

But that said, I love me some boiled peanuts. Can't get them here in the DR. Sigh.

I know. I'm allergic to tree nuts.

I know people who have laughed at the label on most packages of peanuts that says "Warning: May contain nuts."

I just shake my head and let them have their moment of unwarranted superiority over the "idiots" who don't know that peanuts are nuts.

Love them. Cold ones in the summer, hot ones in the winter.

Peanuts, I mean.

that's how I make em (since you can't buy them where I live.) But I usually use brine instead of water and soak them overnight before I cook them.

I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned the Cajun hot & spicy or the ones cooked with ham or ham hocks. They're pretty good but I like my original flavor best.

Love them. Haven't had them in years. Cold is better than hot. But I won't turn either down.

I'm headed to wilmington this weekend, and will likely stop on the side of the road to get some.

You should have no trouble finding them on your own. Off the top of my head, I remember there always being a guy at the corner of carolina beach road and independence.
