Homefusion internet service from Verizon

Just a heads up to peeps like me who live outside cable and dsl area's. Just got this installed today and it works great. Don't know how accurate speedtest is but it says I'm getting 25 Mbs down/17 Mbs up. Latency has been anywhere from 50 ms to 70 ms. I play on Xbox Live quite a bit from time to time and it works pretty well on there, no lag. I did have to configure some port forwarding and port triggering, and that was a bit of a headache (at first i just configured port forwarding and it was iffy, but after I set up port triggering it has worked well).

It's kind of expensive and it's obviously not for those who already have cable/dsl access, but if all you've got is satellite or dial-up or even using a hotspot on your phone like I was, this is way better.

It looks alright for people outside of Cable/DSL, but what blows is it has Data caps. I would be careful about how much online gaming, and downloading you do the first month or so till you figure out how much data you will regularly use. Just my .02...

Gaming doesn't use a whole lot of data, unlike streaming videos, that's the real killer. I've gauged my data use before for online gaming and it only uses about 150 mb's an hour (depending on the game). For the first 2 months Verizon gives you 50% more data allowance so you can see what plan really fits you.

But yeah, data caps suck. If it were unlimited I'd get a netflix account and be set.

    • Love the Cobb comparison, and Samuel could even be better.   Here are comparable measurements....   Cobb-- 5'10, 191 lbs, 31 arm length, 9 3/8 hands, 4.46 40yd, 16 bench, 33.5 vert, 115 broad, 7.08 3 cone, 4.34 shuttle Curt-- 5'11, 195 lbs,  31.25 arm length, 9 1/2 hands, 4.31 40yd, 18 bench, 37 vert, 119 broad, 7.09 3 cone, 4.33 shuttle   the only thing Cobb beats him in is the 3 cone drill. Curtis beats Cobb in every other measurable, and is taller and 5 lbs bigger. They even have similar birthdays and were drafted at 20 yrs old each, cobb turned 21 in august of his rookie year, Samuel will be 21 in august.
