Yep. All his authority has just been destroyed. The owners need to move to have him removed as commissioner and get someone else in there asap.

So essentially this ruling by the panel is kicking it back to Goodell to review and re-issue "punishment" IF it's appropriate for him to do so...

The panel is apparenlty confused as to whether Goodell punished the players for violating the CBA by receiving money that isn't accounted for in their contracts or whether he punished them for the conduct of trying to injure other players... because depending on which of those things they are being punished for, Goodell may not have the authority to impose punishment.

So basically the panel said "watchu talkin' 'bout Willis?"

As a Panthers fan, I'm glad the suspensions got lifted. I hate the Saints*, but I hate Goodell and his dictatorship ways even more.

Correct... at least that's how the guys at PFT are interpreting it, and I am too... He can clarify that he's punishing them for "detrimental conduct" or something and reinstate the suspensions.
