After a horrible 1st quarter our defense really stepped up.
- Dwan Edwards made a huge impact getting push up the middle.
- Beason played well even though he had not played all pre-season. He made some really good tackles.
- Charles Johnson was a beast all day. Consistently provided a rush.
- Captain played excellent in the slot. Made 2 great 3rd down plays.
- Frank Alexander had a good debut as well.
- Special shout out to TD. What an inspirational guy.

Kuechly had a bit of a "welcome to the NFL" but he was solid. Norman got beat early but got better as the game went along.

Yeah Tampa offense was anemic in the 2nd half but our defense was a part of that and kept us in the game.

Alexander had a good day too. Two blocked passes and some good pressure on the QB

I was disappointed on how they kept taking Keuchly out of the game. I was looking for his number all game, and pretty much throughout, he was only on the field for 1st and 2nd down.

Kuechly was playing a lot of strong side because of the motions which really hurt him and the defense...We need to create more turnovers

I agree. Slow start defensively because we had no idea what they were bringing offensively. Good play by the defense second half. They scored 16 points. We would have won 14 games if our defense did that all last year.

if our defense plays like this the rest of the season we'll make the playoffs. our offense will get up to speed really fast.

Thank you for this thread.

Seriously. I saw a lot of young promise out there.

#2 CB still scares me though, but props to Cap for what he DID do today.

Bucs were 1 of 3 in the RZ, had 3.6 yards per rush, and 5.3 yards per pass. They gave up 1 TD the entire game and made TB settle for FGs the rest of the way. They did everything in their power to set up the offense to win this game.
