This idea that we need a normal game plan to overcome our poor offensive line play is looking for excuses to ignore the obvious. The O-line play was horrible and Chud adapted too late to overcome their embarrassing performance. If you want something to be positive about - look at the defense, but let's not make excuses as if a normal game plan will fix everything.

That's not really how i see it. I've seen plenty of threads on all 3 boards where something is not necessarily good or bad, but up for interpretation, and your usually one of the first people to see the negative side of an argument. I'm not judging you as a person. I'm sure your a nice guy, but that's just what i've noticed. I'm not really even sure you're aware that you do it. But believe me, you do.

But, my reaction is up for interpretation just as the subject matter is. You perceive it as negative, but I perceive it as objective realism. Check out my threads and posts when our franchises aren't doing stupid stuff or playing mediocre. I'm as optimistic as anyone. And I recognize the positives when we have them.

But truth is, we have a losing tradition and until we doing something that bucks that trend, that is the angle I view our situation from. It also seems extreme to most because I care about my hometeams like they are a part of me. It hurts when we lose.

didnt know how to game plan against a new coach my ass we got beat in all 3 phases of the game today - damn lucky we didnt get beat by 20 points

I think we really need to look at some of those 5-8 yard crossing routes at times. Im not too worried, our sch. is brutal, and I always said 4-12/6-10, something like that.

I bet we still win 10 games. And to rip saw: You can't say that unfamiliarity wasn't a factor today. The defense played night and day better in the 2nd half, the pass protections were clearly better, and we moved the ball through the air in the 2nd half. There's no denying that. It was completely clear to me. If we played tampa in both halves like we played the 2nd we would've won that game. Ugly win, but it still would've been a win.

I certainly respect loving your team to the point where it hurts. i feel the same way. But every year is different and you can't expect to fail because of past teams. It's like when the red sox won their first world series and none of their fans knew what to do. They had been talking about how much they wanted it their whole lives but when it actually happened i read about alot of their fans actually feeling depressed the following year. They had gotten so used to failing and being able to be miserable together that they actually felt lessened by success as if something had been taken from them. That's why i don't dwell on the past. In an era of free agency and coaching changes, each team has a different identity every year and i try to treat it as such. But i do respect your passion as a fan. And i'm westbrook08 on the other boards. So now you know! lol.

Your missing the point. Chud might have called the best game in the history of earth and no one would have known today because we had never seen any of their blitz packages and we couldn't get our protection right until after halftime. No one knows what play chud called when cam is being chased by 4 guys or is on his ass! It's not like schiano has coached another pro team so that we could look at any film on his previous resume. He came straight from college and had the entire off season to game plan us. I would normally never make any excuses about preparation for a game but i truly believe that we were behind the 8 ball from jump today because we couldn't possibly know what we were gonna see and it gave them an entire half to jump on us before we could adjust. I would bet my life that the game in charlotte will be completely different against them later this year. And i bet we still win 10 games!

Who in the fug can be positive on a Bobcats' forum? You have to be high off your ass to think anything positive about that train wreck of a franchise.

I must say I agree. Saints* are gonna come in angry as hell and Brees will light our ass up.
We must treat this upcoming game as a must win. The Saints* most certainly will.

We could've won ugly if? Yikes. All of that just means we hope we have a mediocre team on our hand, at best. I'd never bet against my team because it would be no fun, but over 9.5 wins after today?

No it doesn't mean i'm hoping for a mediocre team. It means that we had no idea what we were going to see against tampa and considering the circumstances i would've taken an ugly win. People always overreact to week 1. Did you think the jets are as good as they played today? Do you think green bay or the Saints** are that bad? The first quarter of the season is about gelling with new schemes and teammates and making adjustments. We can absolutely still be an elite team this year. I swear i think some of you guys have never watched football. Plenty of good teams have gone out and played like poo in an opener. It's not the end of the world. We have a hell of a lot more talent on defense this year. That became pretty clear in the second half. And the offense will be fine. People need to chill. And yes, we'll still win 10 games!
